Man, a prequel comic involves
interstellar portals, mind-control through said portals, and new race of aliens emerging to fight Superman.

This is canonical...right?

HBO GO has a bunch of DC animated films if you guys want to check them out. Saw TDRK pt 1 and 2, Batman Year One, Superman/Batman Apocalypse, Wonder Woman and some others.

DC is going full on comic book aren't they?
Batman having a suit that caused phones to error.

You know this could make an interesting of topic thread.

I think people could warm up to the DCEU if they knew about some of the world building going on in the prequal comics and books!

Batman is a myth and yet the kid knows he has gadgets and a car? There's random Batman merch like plushies and flashlights? A little girl knows about Wonder Woman?

None of that is very far-fetched. Batman being a myth doesn't mean there wouldn't be stories of his gadgets and especially the Batmobile. And Wonder Woman existed back in WW1 so it's entirely possible there would be stories of her too. Not unlike kids having heard of Davy Crockett.

If people have seen Batman, he's not a myth anymore. People then have actual proof Batman exists.

And you said it, WW1. How does she even know this woman is immortal?

People swear up and down they've seen Bigfoot too.

And if Wonder Woman has been around since WW1 it's likely she's either immortal or ages very slowly. These are not foreign concepts to kids.

Batman's more of an urban legend; there's a lot of people who've seen him, but none of them have any proof. Coupled with Gotham's built-in cynicism, you get a hard-line "pics or it didn't happen" attitude. Doesn't stop the tourist trap types from making plushies and flashlights tho.

IDK about Wondy. Could be that her involvement in WWI has passed into legend in-universe. Her history isn't very clear.

I wouldn't take too much from those comics, they are as relevant as those movie tie-in novels. much of the stuff that happens there won't ever get mentioned in the movies. they are just a cool first glimpse into the world but that's it.

I would not take a Cash-In movie Comic to serious. I doubt that there will be kids with Batman and Superman plushies in thos movies

I hope they release these comics in a collection. Really enjoying them. That last one was really cute. It reminds me of the Batman episode where the three kids are talking about the times they saw Batman. Which results in you seeing different versions of him and one by the girl in the group results in the Dark Knight Returns version being shown with the Carrie Kelly Robin.

According with the universe people know there is a Batman, but they think it's more than one, and nobody ever has had a clear picture of him. He's not a myth as in "he may or not exist" but in "what is exactly he?" type.

That contradicts a previous prequel comic where a seasoned thug implies there's one Batman who just works extemely hard to get where he is, but maybe criminals know more. Bruce must be one helluva superhero if he can keep his identity under wraps for thirty years. And then Clark exposes him the moment he meets him. :lol

Honestly, that sounds about right. He's a legend/rumor, so there'd probably be different versions of one story. Some say it's one guy, others say it's a number of people. The only thing people seem to agree with is what he'd dress like - hence merch and shit like plushies and shirts and the Batman mask in Suicide Squad.

Did you notice the kids weren't quite sure if any of the stuff about Batman was true?
Makes it feel like Superman will play a cameo role in a Batman movie.
Everything is a reaction to Superman existing. Like the entire plot is how others would respond to him showing up.

Goddamn, even the runtime bothers people. 2 hours 30 minutes? Too fucking long! 2 hours and 5 minutes? With that many characters, ha! There's just no way to please some people. Whatever the runtime people would complain.

Goal post moving of course. That run time is more then enough to give characters big and small breathing room. That should take away that talking point but of course some will just move on to new things. I bet quite a few people were hoping for a much shorter run time.
