Dead or Alive 5: LR PC delayed to March 30. Online modes coming within 3 months.

If you ignore the extra stages, customization and hairstyles I guess.

I wonder if they ever improved that Dynasty Warriors game on Steam. They've had months to patch that so I'm sure they did, right?

Okay first of all: Extra stages, customization and hairstyles aren't wrote off yet. Koei Tecmo Europe is as clueless as we are.

As for DW, they did. Brought over dual audio, patched some stuff... and DX8 Empires is coming same day as other versions.

Yeah they patched it up... originally it wouldn't even run properly on Windows 8. Still never patched in online or the PS4 textures AFAIK.

Glass half full, we are still getting a PC port within the year. Street Fighter had a similiar release schedule less the online issues (get your weight up KT). While I don't really feel it will be competition for MKX it will give KT something to show off at the GDC in march if they step up the visuals for the PC.

DOA MKX SFV KI? yeah the pipeline looks good

Tecmo now confirming PC doesn't have hairstyles or customizations... not looking hopeful :(

Well. wtf.

It's as if they're just taking DOA5 Arcade (RingEdge 2 i.e. Windows PC box), then adding in the new stuff ala PS360 versions and calling it a day (and three months for online).

Meanwhile they're already taking time to make the current gen console versions, which are essentially PCs as well, one of which has an API close to Windows even.

What are they doing.

for the sake of more japanese content on PC

i'm just going to have the bite the bullet just to show there's a market for it and hope for a better turnout on the 2nd round

Cutting the value of their product. It's £27 on Steam, now it's worth £10 or less just for the ability to play on PC (I already have Ultimate on PS3 and Vita).
I'll get a PS4 or One eventually, where I'll pick up the good version of this for pennies by that point.

Also Tecmo Koei Europe looks as clueless as we are on this matter. Basically redirecting us to what has been said on the site.
Yeah, this information was on the site before PC version was announced.

It's not looking good for the PC version, and I am fully expecting it to be shit. But this is no real confirmation, because:

* New stages are included in PS4™/Xbox One versions only.
* New hairstyles are included in PS4™/Xbox One versions only.
http://www.teamninja-studio.com/doa5/lastround/us/top.html#Stages

Seems like it is more related to this:

■ Notice regarding future DLC releases on PS3™/Xbox 360 Due to hardware capacity, we are approaching the limit of the additional downloadable content we can offer for PS3™/Xbox 360. There is a possibility that new content will not be available for those platforms in the future. We are currently looking into the limits and will inform you as soon as we have more information.

All previously released DLC as well as DOA5LR preorder costumes will be useable on these platforms. The concern about hardware capacity does not apply to PS4™/Xbox One/Steam®.

So it's possibly more like, they wouldn't write "New stages are included in PS4™/Xbox One / PC versions only." because when it was written the PC version was not announced, and the disclaimer is meant to compare the current gen consoles to the last gen consoles in terms of limitations. And then after the PC version is announced, they pay no mind to updating that little disclaimer.

I am not trying to be optimistic, since like I said I'm expecting us to get shafted here like how it has been so far, I'm just saying, possibilities and such etc etc.

Eh, I'm in the "Tecmo Europe doesn't really know more than us camp". They are tired to get those questions while not being able to tell us anything as well.

Unless there's some official word, it's still just speculation.

Yeah, I had Vanilla and Ultimate and a few costume packs on a last gen console, and I wasn't too opposed to Last Round, but then with the features not being up to par, I'll be effectively passing on it as I won't be getting a current gen console for a long time. PC version was the last chance, but it seems it's being treated like a last gen console if the lack of features turns out the way that tweet implies.

Who knows, maybe they'll patch in the *real* 5LR features later on. :/

---

On a side note, I can't help but wonder if they are just hurting themselves in the long run, creating a pattern of re-releases meaning some folks would wait for the "final" compilation. *sigh*

<.< can you still get this for $15? lol

nah they shut down the Russian keys... but those of us who got it that way still have it in our libraries

As for Koei Tecmo Europe being in the dark on the info... yeah I do get that sense. The post is carefully worded enough that they can deny it later if the PC version does land up with that content.

Of course they're much closer to the source than us... so if that's the direction they're leaning- it's probably true.

whelp... Tecmo Koei Europe just replied to that tweet again- "Please wait Team Ninja to confirm, we aren't 100% sure of the Steam version. They'll update the requirements."

sooooo we're right back where we started.

I'm convinced that most companies don't even know that they have European branches sometimes.

KT doesnt know shit afterall.

The safe bet would be to ignore anything that's said until TK Japan themselves say what they're doing or until the game releases. You would think these companies would know how to handle themselves by now and just clearly explain what features will or won't be in the PC version but being a Japanese company I guess everything has to be done as backwards as possible.

Probably safe to assume the March 30th release date isn't locked down either.

It really sucks I already preordered this. I was fine with waiting for online, since they were upfront about it but this is getting ridiculous. They need to be way more transparent with this version.

Well, the delay is going to make waiting difficult. I hope they slash the DLC prices in half or something or give it to us for free (would never happen!). Maybe I'll pick it up on console then trade it in.

I feel like the best course of action, since it's already getting delayed, is just delay it indefinitely until the online mode is finished and maybe include more content. It really just feels like they're sending this out to die by pricing it at $40 with no online multiplayer or any other incentive to pick it up over consoles other than potentially better graphics/performance.

So wait a second... if TeamNinja's page is so out of date with the PS4/XBOX ONE only tag for the hair, stages, etc... how come they have Honoka on the roster? That would mean they've updated in the last 10 days or so....

Well, the page is even updated with the Steam delay, and has Steam logos all over it. But there is literally no information on anything about the game, just that it 'exists', which is what I find "encouraging", because it's consistent.

Steam section in the product info page is "coming soon", they mentioned it's coming to Steam, and that it's delayed on Steam, but there is literally nothing else but an acknowledgement of its existence. So when those little disclaimers mention only the PS4 and Xbox ONE versions, it is at least consistent with them not mentioning anything at all about the Steam version, because if they mention Steam in that disclaimer then they've just confirmed or denied a PC feature which it seems like they're trying their hardest not to do, for whatever reason.

But speculation is starting to become pointless. It's either going to be a shit port with no current gen features and that's why they're silent, or it's going to be a good port with current gen features and they're being silent / obfuscating the information because of some ridiculous politics that are shit for the consumer but some how good for business (Rockstar route of not confirming PC version in order to get more console sales? I don't even know). It will be interesting to see, but I'm not placing bets on either outcome because game politics just clouds too many would-be-obvious implications.

For what, not releasing games? VF left DOA in the dust for that long ago

The sales of VF say otherwise tho.

EDIT: If you preordered on Steam via store without using the Russians to get you the game you may cancel it but if you got it as a gift or trade with someone you cant cancel it.
