Oh! I didn't know you had to take a picture of it! I was just spinning it around for a while and nothing happened!

You get 10,000 pp if you spin it so that the open eyes fall above the happy smile.

I only played the demo for a few minutes...something like 10. I liked it alot, the graphics are great...even though it doesn't have that wow factor, but overall it really is good stuff. The game itself ( mind you, from 10 minutes ) felt like State of Emergency. I enjoyed that game alot too. I haven't gotten into taking pictures or anything like some of you guys are doing...i will give some more playtime soon enough.

Cripes, the 15 min timelimit of the demo is killin me. Just when I'm beginning to have fun, 7pm rolls in and end s the demo. IS IT TUESDAY YET?!? *takes hammer to head*

Dead Rising - 7.5, 7.0, 8.0
Okami - 9.0, 9.5, 9.0 Gold Award, GOTM

WOW! how could such a travesty....occur?

Personally, if the demo is any indication (well, it kind of isn't because the "horrid" save system isn't in it and the game's "weird" progression design is non-existant), the game gets a 9 from me!

However, I have yet to play the game for hours on end to see if it gets old

This game is so full of little details. I must've spent 5 minutes alone just throwing gems around inside of the jewelry shop. :lol

It was pretty cool when I tried hitting a zombie that had a hard hat on with a sledgehammer... there was just a big spark and the zombie just fell over, but wasnt hurt. Awesome stuff. :D

I love the little details

And speaking of hardhats, I found out this morning that when you shoot a zombie with a hardhat, it doesn't kill them and you hear a ricochet.

yeah, someone did, but since capcom never supported importing i wouldn't expect them to tell you the game works just fine.

EB games italy have received confirmation (from eb games usa) that the game is indeed region free and multilanguage BUT don't take my word (actually EB's) for it, just hold on a couple days and we'll find out for sure.
I'm just reporting what ebgames is telling its customers, as soon as i have the chance i'll try myself.
So, anyone had a chance to check yet whether the US version runs on PAL?

Who is doing the voice work for that main character, David Hayter maybe?

He does sound like him.

He does! I didn't like his voice at first, watching those "webisodes", but it grew on me.

Blonde titties: Do you know how to use this?

Frank: *sarcastically* KINDA. I covered WARS y'know...

Hilarious. The way he says "kinda" reminds me of Shaun in Shaun of the Dead when talking to his stepfather: "I was GONNA..."

I finally got the demo last night. I wasn't 100% wowed by it like the rest of you seem to be. Since there was no actual mission to do, I kind of got bored fast. I enjoyed walking around, but killing zombies got boring. But as I kept getting to the endings of the demo/story branches, that is when it got exciting. Seeing the
escaped inmates, the family sniping people
that is when I got really interested and then of course it ended.

I will get the game, but the actual missions are more of the draw for me, not killing zombies. So not sure if I will like the game that much as it seems that killing zombies is the main focus.

This demo is just to addictive. I just cant wait any longer to finnaly get this game and I have to wait for another freaking month! Even my brother keeps asking when new movies appear of this game and couldnt wait to play the demo either. And he isnt even a gamer really but is almost willing to buy a Xbox 360 just for this game :)

The feeling when you smash a Zombie with the sledgehammer is so satisfieing :D

I made a movie yesterday but forgot to put it online. Just want to keep the hype train rolling. I think we have seen enough movies already but its worth watching tho just to hear the first song in the vid :p

Anybody get the bowling ball? I found one in a cardboard box.

Rolling the ball down a long hallway and nailing the undead is very fun.

You don't really have to find 'em. There's an infinite amount in the upstairs section of the sports store. But if you must.. there's usually one in the fountain near the mall entrance as well.

Sorry, but killing zombies never gets old.

I would totally disagree with that. I read the exact sentiments when 'State of Emergency' came out. Then 2 weeks passed. Like I said, the missions are the key here, not the zombie killing. Zombie killing will get old and tired fast. If the missions are good, then the game has a long shelf life. Just imagine GTA with no missions, that would completely suck and be nothing more than a tech demo.

no offense but people called state of emergency a piece of shit within a couple hours of playing it. i remember i went to eb games the day after and a lot of people were returning it (this was when you could still return opened games). i seriously doubt DR is another SoE

Ah. For some reason I never found the spot in the store that had them.

If you haven't looked yet.. When looking into the store from the 2nd floor entrance, they should be directly on your left if I recall.

zombie killing gets old, yeah, but it'll take a really long time. how much more interesting is a zombie-filled mall than a shit town with idiot citizens? the fact that most stores have unique weapons, books, clothing, etc really extend the playtime. how many of you have gone through the demo more than three times? I bet everybody has.

Exactly. SoE just looked bad. The comparisons to SoE are really stretching it. Yes, the first level in SoE was a mall and yes, there are a lot of creatures, but other than that, there's a world of difference.

Actually I believe boss battles and unfolding the story are the keys to this game.

It's not like the missions in GTA were all that great, there's a reason they are credited with inventing the 'pizza delivery' mission.

The boss battles in this game look very fun, and was definately what I wanted to play the most after finishing the demo

Heh, this game just keeps on delivering. I was watching my co-worker play the game today and he did something I had not heard anyone else try doing yet. Grab a bowling ball, and then from the upstairs, bowl it downstairs or from high up and you could take out plenty of zombie heads and get prestigious points for it in the process.

Sorry if this has already been posted, but if you run up behind a zombie and jump, you land on their shoulders and can balance for a moment for falling off. GENIUS

its called zombie riding. Once you're up there you can jump from zombie to zombie. For a complete list of special moves like this, pause the game and goto the status menu

Another source confirms DR is region free, according to US wholesalers. Shouldn't be long before the guys at videogamesplus test it and write a report on their blog anyway

Well I just played the demo for the first time and I LOVE it.

I love everything from the panned-back opening shot of the mall exterior to sticking novelty heads on zombies to watching them fall down the stairs. Imo they've reached the perfect balance of slapstick, atmosphere and gore and so long as the retail load times aren't as long as the demo I can't imagine finding anything at all that I'm gonna dislike about this game. :D

Oh crap, if true I might need to buy this. What's the cheapest delivery to Europe? Dvdboxoffice has it CAD 73.95 (51.50 EUR) including worldwide Air Mail. That's, like, nearly 20 EUR cheaper than it'll be in shops here.

dvdboxoffice and videogamesplus.ca are the cheapest for europe residents.
awaiting final confirmation from vgplus blogspot before placing an order, but it's pretty much guaranteed that DR is region free now.

They're generally reliable enough. I doubt they'll make such statements if they were not 100% sure; they'll have to replace several copies of the game if it turned out it's region locked.

bwahahah. that's freakin' great. i think that's one of my top selling points for this game, you can actually be creative and try out different ways to kill zombies. that plus the whole "alchemy" aspect and rpg-style leveling up. oh, and don't forget the fun in snapping photos (especially the ones right after a shotgun blast to the face). it's a genre buster in my opinion.
