I still prefer a lot this. The first two games are incredibly flat & bland graphically. The drill part, wow, fantastic particle effects, seems next generation to me. Jeez I love so much Frostbite 2, I can't imagine what could been Mass Effect indeed the horrible UE3.

Yes, you can already pre-order the figure in many shops here in Europe for ~120 with a release supposed to be on August 2013.They released (will release?) this figure:

Not sure I can be bothered with this game, it seems to lack the atmosphere which made DS1 so great.
The fact that people actually believe this is on Frostbite 2 kinda makes a lot of the whole engine wars a big joke.
The fact they implemented a cover system is a joke, more boxes being checked.
The irony is this will sell less then DS 2 as well.
$20 promotional credit if you pre-order at Amazon. PS3 or 360.
Really? I dunno, I think it brings much needed variety to the combat.Agreed, the whole idea that there are human enemies in addition to Necromorphs that use guns is really off-putting to me.

Great demo. New enemies are genuinely horrifying (you know the ones I mean). And that drill section was one of the most intense moment in the series. Weapon crafting seems much more in-depth. The game looks incredible too.
Seems like the best Dead Space yet.

Then there's the weapon crafting. I have to admit that I'm not fond of it. I much prefer the old upgrade system. I can't even find a way to upgrade the stasis now and I find that I need that more. I think you have to upgrade the weapon attachment to upgrade the stasis now and that seems stupid. In the last game the stasis was independent of the weapon.
You upgrades stasis like you used to by upgrading your rig. It is just that in DS3 you have to do that at the suit change stations. After you selected your suit scroll down and there you will find the rig upgrades like stasis, health, air etc.
And there is a way to doge. Clarke is now capable of a combat roll, you can roll forwards, backwards or to the side to doge enemies.
What? How?
What? How?
On Xbox, double-tap LB
Edit: beaten! And yeah, it's either not very good, or I haven't gotten the timing down, because everytime I tried to dodge the spider I kept getting clocked by it.
Didn't care for the demo at all, I was really disappointed seeing as how I loved Dead Space 1 and 2. Will probably skip this or wait for it to drop down to $20.

Nah I think it's just that bad.
"What do you want me to do? Roll? I didn't do this in 30 years but here goes... Ugghhh! Is that good enough? Let's not do this again. My back..."
I think I preferred Dead Space when it was a third person Doom 3. Still willing to give them the benefit of the doubt though.
I think the combat role is a big immersion breaker for me. Part of what made the first Dead Space great for me was the fact that you were in a big chunky mining suit. Your movement felt heavy and is toned down pretty heavily in DS3 with moves like this. Also, if you ADS in the first part you walk fast down the snow instead of slow if you don't. Little things like that break it a bit for me. I'm pretty much in line with Replicant's post above. Still be there day 1 though.
I don't get what's so better graphically than the first two games except the location change that some may prefer...also DS3 is not Frostbite 2 and it's quite obvious since it looks really similar to the previous games.
Also, the text is so fucking small that when I played it on a plasma TV in living room, I couldn't read anything. I had to go back to my room and played it on my LCD, which has closer distance to where I sit to actually see the text on screen.
DS3 has its own type of atmosphere. Which is nice because being stuck on a dark spaceship three times in a row is boring.
This is a joke, right?I dont think the solution was to make it a Uncharted + Gears clone.
This is a joke, right?
? DS3 use frostbite 2. Visceral claimed that when have starting the development, time ago. However it's quite evident in the use of the shaders, transparancies etc etc.. at least, for my eyes.

I take it you have been ignoring the storyline for the past 3 games.
There have always been human enemies.
It's just most of them die in horrific ways before they can get a shot at Isaac. The series has been building up the human threat for sure though, from both EarthGov and the Unitologists.
