Not much talked about? Game came out more than 3 years ago and it was not a huge financial success (probably just break even).I just played Days Gone this year. Blew my expectations out of the water. This game is not talked about nearly as much as it deserves.
Man I'll tell you what. When it comes to music, Katy Perry has nice tits.
Still don't get that line. Wouldn't she be the one riding him like a bike?

There’s a lane for this kind of film. White ruffians have been trending lately in various media, most notably the resurgence of Nordic based stories. This trailer park zombie tale (I just assume that’s what the plot is, never played the game) makes a lot of sense. Hopefully it dovetails into another game since it probably deserves it.Find it hilarious personally that Sony didn't find Days Gone "successful" enough to greenlight a sequel, but are now greenlighting a blockbuster film for it.
Its not hilarious. Its fucked Up.Find it hilarious personally that Sony didn't find Days Gone "successful" enough to greenlight a sequel, but are now greenlighting a blockbuster film for it.
Why though? It's not really a known, beloved franchise like Uncharted and TLOU. Most people don't give a shit about Days Gone.
Why would anyone make a movie based on Days Gone? Such a trash game. Let it die for Christ sake.
Sony did not publicly admit that, but
PlayStation Productions has to realize the problems with this and that's why this is a movie instead of a tv show. There just isn't a sustained market for this as a tv show with fatigue from The Walking Dead.
As a movie, I don't see this doing well either.
That fatigue is hitting cinema as well.
Look at A Quiet Place and A Quiet Place: Part II
AQP - 341 million (17 million dollar budget)
AQPII - 297 million (61 million dollar budget)
RE: Afterlife - 300 million (60 million dollars budget)
RE: Welcome to Raccoon City - 41.8 million (25 million dollar budget)
The budget for this movie is almost certainly going to be small based on the risk. You're looking at 25-50 million dollars.
You compare it to World War Z and they didn't get someone like Brad Pitt to helm this because they don't actually believe in it. They're not even expecting this to do as well as Zombieland which did 102.4 million.
The best they're probably hoping for is something along the lines of 28 days later which did 85.7 million on an 8 million dollar budget, but they won't go that low on the budget which makes it more comparable to 28 weeks later which already had knowledge around it from the prequel and this game has knowledge around it from the game. 65 million dollars box office on 15 million dollars.
So the goal for them will be to roll in with as low a budget as possible here, which is why they're in talks with Sam Heughan a significantly bigger name than Sam Witwer, but not expensive in the least. They're hoping to convince Outlander fans to watch it and their boyfriends/husbands to want to see it for the zombies and motorcycles. It's not going to do well.
Solid and agreed.
Maybe Days Gone doesn't work well for its story outside of gaming. (even within the medium that story was......not the best lol)
