I paid for PC-cillin and they want me to re-up my subscription as it's about to expire. My PC has been acting up and I'm no newbie to the ways of the Internet, so I thought I had a virus. I scanned and I scanned and I scanned again with PC-Cillin. It continued to say the equivalent, "Your PC is clean and awesome, dude! Subscribe for another year!"

So I downloaded AVG, which is free and it saw and corrected three infected files.

So - BACK THE TRUCK UP! - Trend wants me to pay for an anti-virus program that could not even detect the infected files that a FREE program could?

Hah, go fuck yourself Trend. Worst waste of money ever.

Same thing happened to me. I got some IRC Trojan that PC-Cillin detected but kept coming back whenever I used mIRC. Downloaded Trojan Hunter for the 30 day trial and it got rid of that plus some other stuff. I resubscribed anyway since it's been doing its job otherwise and I downloaded some updated version that seems to detect Trojan viruses better.

The first clue that it sucks is that they attemped to come up with a witty name and failed horribly. The second clue is that they then attempted to make an antivirus program...

Actually I have no idea how good or bad PC-cillin is, in fact this is the first time I've ever heard of it, I just hate the name.

I never had problems with it, and it scanned just as thoroughly as AVG (my subscription ran out)




Then again, I'm not a total idiot by using IE or mIRC (Opera > * )
