I'm a liiiiitle lttp with this series I guess but after watching the first few episodes I found I get this warm fuzzy feel good vibe, a familiar feeling in a way that I've been down this kind of creepy street before then it hit me...Petshop of Horrors. The two anime don't really share that much in common, it's just the short story type set up with primary antagonist(?) front and centre that I dig. Don't know if you guys know what I mean...anyways, enjoying what I'm seeing so far.

This had the best OP this season, probably this year/2014-2015. Sad to aee it end but at least it ended cleanly. I'll buy the bluray once it releases for sure.

Episode 11 and 12:

It hit me like a ton of bricks. The last two episodes really put everything into perspective. It could have been an anime just like the short with a "guest of the week" but it dove so much further into the human soul and the feelings surrounding the show.

....I liked it.

I want this and Ping Pong The Animation to be released on DVD in the US. Ping Pong is probably never happening though. :(

Looking back, I think the skating scene in episode 11 was one of the most memorable scenes in an anime I've seen.

Incredibly well done.

Yeah it was well done. Very well done. Does anyone know the name of the song that plays during the scene?

Man, this show has made me think a lot about life

PS:
Shouldn't her breaking down and begging him to press the button have got her the void?

PS2: Thanks for the link

She was just trying to get what she wanted without actually taking responsibility for it. I can understand it. That said I would have pressed that button without a moment's hesitation.

I was surprised
decim restored to the same dirty trick that the other arbiter did. Also don't know why it was necessary, sort of feel like he had seen enough to make his judgement before then.

The flower guy said it. They are arbiters and that's all they know

Also, that ending signified a possible 2nd season to me

The first Aldnoah OP and the one in Parasyte are better IMO. I will also buy the BR

The whole point is
that they do the same trick. They did say that arbiters have to unlock the darkness in peoples souls first before they can give a "proper" judgement. Decim never saw her at a broken "dark" point, which was all he needed left (hence why he said "i just wanted to know more about you" (or something to that affect). The whole point of this was to say how the "emotionless" arbiters differ from those with human emotion. Ginti just tricked Mayu into doing something potentially "dark" while Decim tricked Chiyuki into revealing how she felt about her true value of life and the lifes of those she left behind. I guess what i'm getting at is that while the "question" they both gave was the same, the way it was given indicates the exact difference between the 2 types of arbiters.

Well, anyway... I loved this last episode.
Wished they would have done an epilogue to give us a better understanding about the struggle between Oculus and Nona (I really wanna know more about that whole "closest to god" thing that they just casually mentioned early in the series).

Regardless of that, I loved this series and am super surprised and happy that it didn't end up being a "couple of the week" psycho fest, because that would have been super boring if there was nothing else. :)

According to the OST, it is titled "moonlit night"

No. For several reasons I think. 1. Because Decim at that point can empathize and understand human emotions, and recognizes how difficult not pressing the button must be.

2. She broke down and started freaking out, but she herself never pressed the button. She never committed the act, only begged Decim to do it for her. And i don't think she really expected him to press it for her. That's not enough for the void, especially given the circumstance.

I dont think it will get a 2nd season. The entire season has focused on Decim and then in the background Nona vs Oculus. Oculus wants to keep the failing system, because he sees going against it was pointless. Nona disagrees. We see in the last episode that she's managed to disprove at least one of the rules (rule #4) that is preventing a move to a new system. I don't think they want to actually go through showing her changing the system. It wouldn't be an exciting show, or at least it would be a very different show. Better to let the audience envision how it would play out.

Meanwhile Decim's story has been wrapped up.

Gotta say I loved this series, normally non action animes aren't my thing but this was fantastic. I need to get my hands on this OST ASAP.

Can't believe this anime slipped from my radar, I blame college and midterms. Excellent anime from the first episode to the last; like people said earlier it could've easily been "guest couple of the week" type of show, but I'm really happy to see that it wasn't.

Please do not let me serve on a jury. I am actually a crazy person.
Welp, finished it.
Quite a punch, but not as good as expected.

Death Billiards was an achievement in storytelling, the series that built on it was.. Nicely done, but that's just about the highest praise i can give it.

The finale left a bit to be desired from a closure standpoint (or even setting up a more intriguing cliffhanger), but overall the series was excellent IMO.

I think the setting and characters have a lot of potential, so I hope they make more.
