Is anyone else a fan of the Deathstalker series by Simon R. Green? It's cheesy space-opera, but I think that this kind of thing, if ever produced into a movie, could shame Star Wars out of existence (though obviously the books probably wouldnt even exist without star wars.) Basically I see it as space-opera done right. Sure it gets corny in some places, and it even drags on for a bit... ok, a lot... but I still have read every single book, cover to cover, and loved it.

If any of you are looking for a fun series of books to get into, you should grab the original Deathstalker book.

Massive fan, though they'd be better if he'd stuck to the original plan of a trilogy, the 4th and 5th books should just be one book.

Have you read any other Simon R Green stuff? I'd particularly recommend the Hawk & Fisher books - pulp fantasy at its grittiest

Have you read the two newest Deathstalker books... Deathstalker Returns and Deathstalker Coda? Haha, if you thought it should be a trilogy, I doubt you'd be very happy that he came back to make 6 and 7. Although, both could have been one book as well, and both were important to round out the Owen/Hazel storyline, as well as solve the problem of the Terror.
