This man is the biggest shitposter on GAF, I've watched that cocksucker operate with impunity for over 5 years, and now we got him.

(But I voted both because Hanks is also a great actor)

For me, they're both top tier and I have many movies I love with each of them. I can't choose one over the other.

But man...Training Day was so good.

Tom Hanks easily.

Denzel couldn't even drop his NY accent for Gladiator 2, in fact he insisted on keeping it rather than using an african accent arguing it didn't matter. The guy's a hack.

Also, Denzel was in Gladiator 2.

It didn't matter anyway, because Denzel is the only thing salvageable from Gladiator 2.

Denzel has more range with the NY accent than Tom Hanks doing everyone's Dad since the late 90's.

Voted both. Neither are near my favorites, but both have deep catalogues with at least a few movies that everyone is bound to enjoy. Props to Hanks for helping bring us Band of Brothers.

The truth is I wouldn't trade one Hanks for ten Leos or ten Denzels or ten Will Smiths.

I'll trade all of those and throw in an additional 90 Will Smiths for one Morgan Freeman.

Maybe it's just the movies I've seen but, I'm never captivated by Tom Hanks performances. Like look at Captain Phillips, he was supposed to be the star and got dunked on by an unknown actor... Tom Hanks as an actor is the equivalent of Skechers runners for middle age dads. Bland, average and lacking in style, suave, or anything that could be mistaken as an identity.

I voted Both but if a gun was pointed at me it would probably be Tom Hanks because of Saving Private Ryan and Turner and Hooch.

what allegations?
No formal allegations have been charged against him as far as I know, but a lot of folks & bots on Twitter claim he's a member of the pedophilic elite. And when I hear wild claims like that, I go down the rabbit hole to see why people believe it. Sometimes I come out the other side relatively convinced. Regarding Tom Hanks, I've seen no compelling evidence.

They're both amazing and they're both in great dramatic films, but I'd pick Tom because of his early comedy days. Turner and Hooch, Joe vs the Volcano, The Burbs, Splash, The Money Pit, Big, etc. Loved those movies when I was a kid.

My sister got a bullmastiff because of Turner and Hooch.

Denzel. Here's why:

They both have a ton of great movies, but who has more BAD movies?

I think Tom Hanks has made more bad movies. Anybody ever see Larry Crowne? Woof!

Is there a bad Denzel movie? Even the ones people don't like very much are still solid.

Secret shout-out for Fallen. Underrated gem where Denzel as a cop has to track a demon shape-shifting serial killer. Hell yeah.

He was always the next door dad/nice guy since the early 90's, when he transitioned from the young smart NY guy from the romantic comedies in the 80's. And he chooses this kind of role to bolster his public image. Its called typecasting.
That why some critics say that he has no range.

And when he breaks out of this stereotype like in Cloud Atlas, Elvis, etc. he bombs.

You never saw Captain Philips, a 2013 movie The ending scenes were a masterclass in realistic acting.

I voted for both but it really depends on the movie. I personally like Tom Hanks a little better even thou Denzel had some stellar performances too. but Tom Hanks in Cast Away really sold me for his role so my favorite would go to him.

This is a tough one, but Denzel Washington is just too badass. I love him. Like Bruce Willis, Clint Eastwood or Samuel L. Jackson, he's built a genuine character out of his persona. Denzel Washington is a dude that plays as himself.

Splash
Bachelor Party
The Burbs
Big
Turner & Hooch
The Money Pit
Volunteers
Man With One Red Shoe
Dragnet

We don't even have to get into his dramatic work, Tom Hanks wins based on his 1980s comedies alone.

It's tough. I feel Denzel has the better average for "good" movies but Hanks can do comedy and his hits usually have a big impact (Big, League of their Own, Phili, Gump, Apollo 13, Private Ryan, Cast Away, etc). 🤔

I've been meaning to catch The Fallen for ages. Thanks for the reminder.

Hanks needs to hop on the action movie train and have a rival series to Denzel Equaliser movies.

Anyway Hanks any day of the week. The dude helped deliver Saving Private Ryan and Band of Brothers so that's an instant win.
