The much-anticipated shooting game Concord turned into a high-profile failure, with players who bought it being refunded, and the studio closed.

"Certain aspects of Concord were exceptional, but others did not land with enough players, and as a result we took the game offline,"

Mr Hulst said at the time.

The firm also faced criticism over the £699.99 price tag for its new PlayStation 5 Pro console - hardware capable of playing games at higher fidelity.

The firm's two-person leadership model has also raised eyebrows in the industry. Mr Hulst mostly oversees software and Mr Nishino looks after hardware.

"We can achieve greater focus in our respective areas and then come together to develop the best experiences for the PlayStation community,"

Said Mr Nishino.

It reminds me of my cake analogy.
A cake that looks like shit, smells like shit and taste like shit...but the cream on it tastes fine.

This guy just doesnt get it, does it. I think this is far worse than any concord flop. he seems to be impervious to common sense in a way Phil Spencer has mastered over the last decade.

If he isnt replaced soon, I suspect the next ten years of PS are going to go the way of Xbox. You cannot have leadership with blindspots and delusions like this. If he cant even admit he fucked up then he will keep repeating the same mistakes.

This was the opening post of this Thread in October..

Regarding Firewalk, as announced in early September (An Important Update on Concord), certain aspects of Concord were exceptional, but others did not land with enough players, and as a result we took the game offline. We have spent considerable time these past few months exploring all our options.

After much thought, we have determined the best path forward is to permanently sunset the game and close the studio.   I want to thank all of Firewalk for their craftsmanship, creative spirit and dedication.

Is there any particular reason behind this Thread more than a month later discussing the same exact thing, trying to keep the memory of this abort of a game alive?

I mean, what else was he even supposed to say while shutting down the studio and fire everyone that worked for years on the game he wanted?

The only thing decent i saw about concord was the CGI trailer. And the most espectacular thing was seeing how hard it crashed.

It's worth pointing out that the game flopped so hard, most people with opinions about it here did not even install it.

I bought a sex doll, but I keep it inflated 100% of the time and use it like a regular wife
A company burning down 400.000.000$ has to have some positive effect on the economy, no? Like an anti-inflation chess move.

Thanks Hermen.
