Remember your exotic has a +5 mod in it, so the base power is 5 lower than the total. The legendary probably does not have a +5 mod slotted so it is showing its base power.
 
Is anyone running around with shotguns? As far as I can tell they are completely useless at the moment. No point in messing with them when a sword is the close-range alternative.

I've been pretty pleasantly surprised with how well sub-machine guns turned out though. I thought they were just going to be a lame version of the auto rifle.

Check if the piece you want to fuse has a +5 mod on it. If it does its true power level is lower than what it displays.

chest 70 (includes +5 mod)
infuse with a chest 70 (no mod) fuse them together.
Your new piece will now be 75

yeah the exotic has +5 mod and the legendary doesn't, so that means my exotic without a mod is 275 and the legendary is 276

Curious to know whether it was done in order for them to only make minor tweaks to armor sets to fit the female body. Is this true of females in other classes and not just Titans?

Just wait until you have to do it with 5 min or more left on the timer for the Rat King quest. Now that shit is insane haha. Took my group countless attempts to get that done.

is there a chance of getting an Exotic from Faction rewards ?? and if yes will the Exotic power will be as shown on the legendary Engram ?? my Faction rewards give me 270
 
Bungie need to punish quitters of ranked by ensuring they don't get loot for x amount of time after quitting. So many children/rage quitters in this game!

I got Merciless after handing over a bunch of gun parts to the gunsmith. Don't remember power but I feel like it was least as high as the engram power number shown.
 
Just to be clear, Exotic Engrams don't scale with you, right? I have one at power level 237 & I wanna crack it open, but not if it could turn out to be better.
 
If anyone is getting the CHICKEN error on ps4, put your theme to Flow - default color. It fixed the issue on both of my ps4s right away.

Credit to my 10yr old for figuring this out for me, lol.

Save one exotic engram and 5 legendary engrams for a quest. Also save your blue scout rifles.

AFAIK they don't scale after they're in your inventory. The ones vendors hold for you will, though, as long as they hold onto them.

That's a great question actually. My first thought was this is yet another concession to the PVP focus of Destiny 2, making the Titans beefcakes with giant World of Warcraft shoulders regardless of gender, just so they have a distinct silhouette for instant class recognition. But now I definitely want to check if males and females from the other two classes also have near-identical body builds.

Well, considering that this is the first time I got a drop for an exotic, I will definitely hold on to it. Been getting legendary drops more frequently though. But why am I holding on to them?

There's a quest for an exotic weapon that requires decrypting 5 legendary engrams and one exotic. A separate quest wants 5 blue+ scout rifles.

Shotguns seem straight up bad, yeah. At least in PvE.

Honestly there also seems to be somewhat of an issue with the way they scale damage per round against rounds per minute. I have yet to find a weapon where dropping RPM results in an proportional damage increase. Maybe this is a PvP knock on effect and slower RPM weapons are meant for PvP, but it has basically tanked the entire Hakke AR/PR lines for PvE. Going up in RPM within a weapon type so far has always resulted in a raw overall DPS increase.
 
Huh, tried some competitive, very weird, not sure if I like it. Takes too long. Had a weird match where my group was doing great for two rounds then all of sudden it was like everyone on my team stopped using the radar, people jumping off of the map on accident? While the enemy team got stomped the first two rounds, they weren't behaving as bad as my team was the second half. That was really weird all around.
 
Gotta say that they added tons of life in the public areas now. Everytime I'm in one for a second I get distracted by missions, public events, random events, patrols adventures, high value targets. It's pretty overwhelming, and gotta make it a point to not do them all the time haha

Yeah I don't even care about the monetization. It's just I am switching armors so much and so often. Why would I ever skin them individually? Until I am super late game
 
Hmm, being kicked out to orbit a lot today with the error message "Olive". Anyone else have this issue or know what's wrong? On a Pro @ 1080p.

My net seems to be stable, and it's the first time I've gotten these errors since launch.
