Destiny 2 |OT| Here We Go Again

Not super happy with my titan as with the exception of the captain america shield power, he plays like a regular soldier. But I'm too far in (about four hours) to restart with a different character. Maybe he gets more unique later on.

Is hunter a bad choice?

I've been having a great time with Hunter, you can unlock abilities where your dodge roll immediately recharges your melee, and a melee strike immediately recharges your dodge roll, very effective for when you get swarmed. But you probably can't go wrong with any class, game is simply fun to play.

Warlock and titans have heals and attack buffs/shields respectively. Hunters have dodge roll. At first it seems hunters don't have much in terms of support, but you'll eventually be able to debuff bosses and turn you and your allies invisible. I even saw someone using their dodge roll to bait large enemies attacks by rolling through their melee while the rest Dps. I like healing so I chose warlock cuz I like heals but they all have neat tricks.

On the offensive side, warlocks are space magicy stuff like area of effect damage and fast self heals and super recharging. Titans are defensive and bruce force offensive. Hunters have more tricky and unique effects to help them like anchoring enemies, increase backstab melee strength, massive single shot bursts. They all have advantages and they're all stylish.

The dodge roll reload is pretty great for PVP too...
"Oh you think I'm out of ammo? You think I'm in front of you? NOPE!"
Melted the face off a few people in crucible with that move.

As for PVE, I rather like being able to instantly dodge and reload my grenade launcher while spamming fire into an elite mob, watching his golden health bar melt away...

Hopefully that will allow hunters to get in some extra DPS on raid bosses...

I don't think I've ever been more miserable in a writer's room. I just want to defend the last city.

I know we've had our differences before but please DGAF, I've seen the light. Take me back.

I've been playing all fucking day. Can't tell when the last time was I just sat down and played for an entire day. Already hit level 20 and practically finished all the subclasses. Good thing I'm hitting the gym tonight to compensate. :lol

Game is damn good. Having a lot of fun. Playing as a Titan, the subclasses are all great and
I let out a cry of joy when I saw the Sunbreaker was in
.

Story is such a night and day difference with D1, it's ridiculous.

Huge shout out to MarineMountie for gifting me the game because I am a broke Hunter. Let these kind gestures pile up just to show the absurd when someone says "Lol DGaf is a garbage community".

Thanks a lot man. Because of you I can take the Tower back!

"There is nothing more ruthless than compassion"

Always remember...Titan Master Race.

Love that i am level 20 didnt play one strike yet. Enough other stuff to do and no urge. Compared to Destiny 1 where it was needed really fast to level.

At first I thought hunter dodge-roll was lame but I keep seeing people use it in creative ways. Im sure dodge-roll shotgun has its uses in pvp too.

Yeah, so as someone who played a lot of Destiny and all the expansions,

this SPANKS Destiny 1 at its best so far.

If you are on the fence, don't be. Mind you, I only played about 4 hours so far, but man, it is addicting as shit. I would say go for it for sure.

Should I do all adventures and lost sectors on a planet before I continue, or are they still worth returning to at a higher level later?

I would say do all of them.

Mind you, I don't know 100%, but I figure that the loot won't level with you. It has recommended power levels, so yeah.

Plus, whats the rush? Enjoy the game.

God can you turn off the super sticky auto-aim?

It's friggin gross.

Where can I see time played?

Dumb story question (just did the first mission on Titan):

Zavala keeps talking about the other guardians not having light, why can't they just go to EDZ and touch the shard like I did? Seems like a weird plothole unless it gets explained later

edit: I've only done story and public events so I'm probably wrong in making that statement, sorry

Quick question about real early plot point that's been bugging me, right when you get to the farm, and I hope I didn't miss a cutscene -
, your ghost and the crtyo woman mention that you had a vision about the shard of the traveler. But I don't remember it happening at all. Did my game just skip a cutscene?

The Traveler chose only you.

It creates kind of a disconnect when you see everyone else running around with their light restored, but eh.

Been super hyped about this game, but between a friends get together last night and work, I've barely able to touch it. I hope I can find enough play time to buy whatever weapon and Warlock armor piece Xur is offering this weekend....if he shows up, of course.

I did manage to play the intro though (up until
you get your Light back and reach the Farm
), and I was really impressed by how Bungie let the first few missions play out.

I played until I could group up with friends then went to sleep as I knew (a) I'd pull an all-nighter if I didn't and (3) I have vacation after today. Of course, here I am at work staring at clocks and thinking I should've stayed on last night. Can't wait to get home.

For anyone asking about pre-order items
  • Emote (finger gun) should be in your Vault Collections already at beginning.
  • Rest (Ghost skin, Exotic weapon...) are obtainable once you have completed story.

Having a blast with the game so far!

It feels like an expansion in the best way possible. So far the game is everything I expected and wanted it to be. The campaign is nice, the structure of sidequests is really nice, the sense of exploration and mystery is there and there is quite some variation in the different locations. I really hope they will add content more regularly than Destiny 1 (especially new raids), then this game will get quite some playtime from me :)

After first 6 hourish~

Crucible maps are dogshit, they feel randomgenerated almost. No distinguishable features. Some dialogue, mainly Ikora is pure cringe :D

Shootbang still feels good and the revamped patrol missions as "adventures" are a good addition, atleast until they start repeating themselves.

Just downloading the day 1 patch now. DGAF discord joined and ready to rumble! UK based, Xbox. CarthoOhNoes is my GT if you want to add me. Played a fair bit of D1 by never raided which is a shame as I'd love to!

I've just sent a join request to the DestinyGAF Xbox clan too :)

Crucible maps have always felt like thrown together random areas.

when do strikes open up im level 12 8th mission

I think Level 15. I was 16.5 and did 4 Strikes to reach Level 20. I'm not suggesting anyone rush through the experience but if you want to go quick from 15-20 Strikes will do it.

So, all the Token currencies I should be turning in to their corresponding vendor?

My video memories :]
The squad!

Warlocks, fuck yeah. What's this 'we' bullshit?

Dunno. Thats just my guess since I've been playing since 8 am.

Yeah, random drops I get.

But even those adventures that are like "recommended power 30" and you're 80?

sorry, yeah, Ive only done straight story and public events, not sure if that's the same for adventures.

Posting this before I read through the thread...

I'm having an absolute blast. Really happy they kept so many secrets under wraps even as we were all complaining and saying it's "Destiny 1.5." There are so many quality of life improvements. Can't wait to get home and play more.

Dismantle or sell unused equipments?
Don't believe they have "selling" equipment. When you dismantle, you'll receive glimmer.
