the word for awhile has been nothing carries over. Just a special beta emblem. though a couple days ago Bungie said they havent made a final decision. But I would still assume no.

It would be awesome if they did. But who are we kidding. Its very unlikely.
Is there one zone per planet? How many planets? someone posted we'll go to venus, earth, mars, moon, saturn and jupiter?
I mean the full game wouldn't have you go on five misisons in old russia, that would be awful. and i hope the lvling is accelerated or something. Generally it was a good taste of the final game but really has me anxious if the lvl cap isn't above 20.

Is there no mic support for this beta, or is everyone just silent?
Bungie still aren't even sure if anyone's beta character will carry over to retail. (I think?)

i'm almost level 6 but i still can't play PVP. that's super lame since i don't really care about PVE.

Ive seen some weapons that have an upgrade that increases hip fire accuracy.
Finish the story missions, you unlock PvP after the third or fourth one.
No mic support outside your fireteam in any version.

Do you mean quitting the game entirely or just returning to orbit?
Because to orbit out of a match or session, just hit the touchpad and hold triangle.
He needs to get invited by completing story missions and talking to the crucible guy in the tower first.
So I finally reached level 8 with my Titan. I just finished story mission 5 and I guess that's the last one because I can't access the Moon.
Do you get good gear from Exploration? I'd like to gather up before I head into the Crucible.
And what is the fastest way to earn some Glimmer? I wanna buy myself a new ship or Sparrow. :T

Yeah-- I mean it's not the biggest loss anyway since the cap is so low.
You get to orbit by pressing the touchpad and holding triangle. Lets you choose Earth, Tower, etc.
Crucible will be in the bottom right when it's unlocked. You might need to go back to the Tower and talk to a certain NPC first. Should be highlighted for you when you're there.
Whenever you hit the touchpad and hit triangle, it takes you to orbit. It's the menu from where you select your next destination. The Tower, Earth, or the Crucible.
I was playing in the alpha with friends and we could chat. I've got the ps4 camera so the mic is always on. I've been happily talking away to myself all night lol and not one person replied. I think you can only chat with your fire team tho, I'm sure I read on hear.

So all yesterday my PS4 was left to "transfer" the game content. I came home late last night to see it ready to go, went to sleep, and when I awoke today it was gone.
Like the whole icon is gone, including the notifications of the client and update file downloads (along with other notifications from this whole week). I have no clue what happened, but looks like I have to leave it downloading for 6 hours again. So lame.

I do find myself hoping there are more customization options at level 20.
I love the simple look of some of the starter armor, and I would love to recolor it at level cap, or have versions with level 20 stats.
I'm really hoping bungie doesn't go the route of having people use their armor as a status symbol, because it inevitably ends up with everyone looking the same.

Please tell me you're basing your analysis on the amount of the content in the entire game by what's in the beta.
Now let me preempt my reaction: lol
I think the armor is generally pretty similar to the Guild Wars series; each class has a few unique sets, several "generic" sets that get progressively fancier in their higher level versions, and nearly everything can be recolored to your liking.

So, I played with the the earpiece plugged into the DS4, had voice set to headset only, and got nothing from my fire team. Does that mean they simply weren't talking?
I also tried the Pulse headset, but got nothing.
I did see a small symbol in the bottom right appearing intermittently. As well as some yellow pulsing around their level indicators in situations when it looked like they were trying to talk to me, but I got no audio.
Am I missing some kind of setting I have to activate or have I just been stuck with a quiet fireteam?
Head back to orbit and go to 'explore mode'.
You can then track down these markers where you get lil quests. Explore, make glimmer, level up, etc.

Reached level cap in the wee hours of the morning. Did some Control matches. That Venus level looks really nice. I've died a few times falling to my death at Zone B >.<
Sounds like a quiet fireteam. Did you try talking to them to see if they could hear you? Voice chat was working fine for me last night.
Now do it on Hard Difficulty ;-)

prediction: when they cut the beta off you will be like an addict begging for one more hit.
In GW2 (and most modern mmo's nowadays) there's usually appearance systems so you can say, have the stats of something you got from a high level encounter, but the appearance of a different set of gear that you might like the appearance of.
Bungie seems so dead set on allowing you to create the look of your Guardian, I'd hate for it to evolve into "yeah this armor is butt ugly, but its got the best stats so I'll deal."
Its really unfortunate that Legend difficulty isn't in the game. There were some real hairy fights with the AI in the alpha at that difficulty.
