There's one thing I really don't understand about the design logic of the AI levels. If I spawn into a level 6 mission, all enemies on the map should be appropriate to my level. But when you spawn in, you're at that same initial spawn and everything is like level 2. That's idiotic.

If you make a hunter you can check it in the game or bungie app. Either press triangle on it or check the subclass section in the app.

It's not idiotic when you consider there's other Guardians in the world who aren't necessarily the same level as you.

I thought I was gonna be all about that Revolver life, but with the slow as fuck reloads and no upgrades... it's just not worth it.

My scout and sniper rifle is all I need. They're my real friends. *hugs Valka SR3 & Pompeii-LR3*

Mine has a skill where if the last round from the gun kills something it insta reloads. Love my revolver

Headshots are doing 300+ and ohko most regular enemies. So I will just pop rounds into the captain and then ohko a regular for the reload. Headshot headshot knife grenade switch to shotty bang bang your dead good night who's next?

Then shouldn't the game be doing a better job matching the levels of players who are in "your" world? What use is there for a level 2 to share a map with a level 8? They can't really do anything together.

I've used a revolver for like 70% of my time playing this game and the only upgrade I got was a store purchase I made and it doesn't have any upgrade features when you use it enough. It was a mild upgrade at best too... ugh

I probably shouldn't mention or show my Hand Cannon I got just for exploring that does 58 attack and is an uncommon item...

I love that the event of the Hive and Fallen going to war wasn't just for the alpha. Survived a lot longer this time and got it all on video too!

As Dax said it's not. You're in a world inhabited by players of all levels.

No because the zone you're in is the open world part. You notice once you get into the dedicated solo space the enemies then are the level you are facing. Don't think of it as you're in the mission until you enter those private spaces.

Dude, if you're in explore mode you're there for one reason: exploring. Battling out enemies at high levels isn't the point.

Dismantled the wrong gun earlier /facepalm.

How's the hunter and titan? I'm playing Warlock and it kinda feels lackluster since I'm a mage but I only have 1 'spell' that has a humongous cooldown...

They all have the same number of abilities. Hunter is a little different in that their super is a powered weapon with 3 bullets.

Btw if anyone wants to invite me for a strike or crucible matches on PS4 my psn: Alchemist2600

Their cooldowns aren't much different. Try getting into the habit of hitting an enemy with Energy Drain whenever it's up, that speeds up the cooldown of your grenade quite a bit. Getting gear that adds the Discipline stat will also help.

Gear and weapons will decrease cooldowns on various things like your specials. Just look at what your stats do and pay attention to the fine print and detail page of your wep / armor. I'm putting together a discipline suit for my Hunter because it decreases my grenade cooldown. Then my helm and gloves have a special that make it where melee damage decreases grenade cooldown also. And then my chest piece has an ability where grenade damage decreases my melee knife cooldown.

So putting together the right suit my grenades come back super fast and my melee does too. Love the way the armor / wep system works in this game

Game is fun but i´m concerned over the lack of variety in weapons and skills. Where are my crazy combinations ? I thought this would be more MMO style with TriArch elements but so far all 3 classes plays exactly the same. No real healer, no supporter, no tank with taunt etc. pp. Wish their would be more then just "Bomb A skill, Superblast B skill". For example the constant lack of ammo in this game drives me crazy. So why no class that can spam some ammo for the group ? There is many potential but I don´t see it yet. Hope this is just the lack of content in the Beta and the final game offers more.

I'm not talking about explore mode am I? I explicitly said "story." When you spawn into a story mission, you're dumped into that same one general spot. Enemies that spawn there are like level 2. My issue is that their existence on the map is a simple nuisance. They're not even worth taking the time or ammo to shoot. It's just a peeve of mine. I don't like having useless enemies on the map.

I understand the logic behind it. My question still remains: Why have a level 2 and a level 8 share space at all? There's no real value in that. I guess you could lead the level 2 to some secrets, but beyond that, you can't really do anything together. Why not have a more sophisticated system that matches players of closer level together (say 1-3 and 6-8)? If you did that, you could also have the AI scale up to a slightly higher level so they don't seem like a waste of processes.

Finally got a chance to play, its more or less what I expected... Not sure if thats a good thing though. I feel very mixed on the game, need to get further in to see how things develop and try playing with friends.

I can kind of see where you're coming from, but again, there other players on the map that might not necessarily be your level — and I don't want to have to matchmake to play a *story* mission.

Another reason for my disappointment. No Man's Sky Sean Murray was right: "What we want to get away from, so desperately is...I play so many sci-fi games and the weapon is still an assault rifle or a pistol or whatever. It just blows my mind."
No Man's Sky has a very different style compared to Destiny. Destiny is rooted in the familiar. NMS is procedurally generated to be outlandish. The guns in Destiny are beautiful, filled with color and style and variety, and they are most importantly fun to shoot.

Well, everyone has 1 'spell' with a humongous cooldown.

I've been playing Titan in Beta. Liking it quite a bit, still think I'm going Warlock when the game launches.

And I can understand that matchmaking would be annoying for most people. I guess I'm weird. Like I said above, I understand that there are players on the map who aren't my level, but I just don't see a real value in sharing space with someone who is say, 4-5 levels lower than me. Personally, I'd rather wait an extra 20 seconds and get stuck on a shared space with people closer to my level. But like I said, I guess I'm weird.

I think they need to change how loot looks like when its dropped, right now its the same colour as ammo drops, kinda easy to ignore if you are full on ammo.

I think green and up should either be different, or a beam that points up kinda like Diablo 3 Legendary. (Sound when it drops and a beam of light).

If you want to fight tough enemies go to the strike but don't go inside. It's a never ending ding wave of tough mobs

I was reallyyyy hoping I would become a believer with this beta. Unfortunately, I haven't had any fun so far. It just doesn't fit my taste, I guess.

Speaking of explore, I was futzing around in Old Russia and I could a cave in the Mothyards I hadn't seen before.

I LOVE those moments.

Was it that GIANT cave with water and lvl 11s in it? Same thing happened to me earlier.

Bungie oughta put some loot or something in there though.

Just wait until the retail, we are going to have to form an explorers club, there are going to be so many moments like that

Another reason for my disappointment. No Man's Sky Sean Murray was right: "What we want to get away from, so desperately is...I play so many sci-fi games and the weapon is still an assault rifle or a pistol or whatever. It just blows my mind."

I don't mind having the standard weapons but i want other stuff too, especially since Destiny isn't even aiming for realism*. So, why can't i have a Needler-like weapon even though the Fallen have such? How about chain-lightning gun? Or that 4-barreled fire gun the Fallen Captains have? Laser rifle? Projectile weapon firing bouncing projectiles (or energy version like the Jedi Knight series Bowcaster)? UT Flak Gun shotgun?

*Realistically, modern-like chemical propellant projectile guns ain't going anywhere anytime soon, as magnetic rifles or laser weapons won't be actually better (on man-portable scale) overall, just different strengths and weaknesses.

There are plenty of non-conventional weapons, fusion/fire/ice etc..... it's hardly the usual AR and Magnum et al.

Other than common fusion rifle, i haven't seen any non-conventional weapons.
I can't even use my rocket launcher as my primary due to scarcity of its ammo...

EDIT having different damage type is not a big enough difference.

It's beta and the cap is level 8. This is only the tip of the iceberg.

Just got a beta invite (didnt preorder).

The e-mail has a ps3 code and a ps4 code. Can both be used or only one? I own both so I would play on 4 and will give away the other one.

Pretty sure they showed on the reveal the Thunderlord a unique heavy machine-gun and it has a Lightning procs. Not sure if the damage is only Lightning-type or if it actually shoots Lightning tho. It looked awesome too.

Pretty sure its damage type is electric (and might have an electric effect) but it isn't a lightning gun like Quake or UT2k4 had.

Not a Jellyfish

but I am a sheep
After finally getting my hands on Destiny I just can't believe.

How the hell did Bungie pull this off? Going to be a huge franchise, Halo 5 is going to have to be insane to pull me away from this.
