But I can't use it because it's Level 9. :/

Can someone clarify what type of game this is?

Since the beta doesn't work and I haven't been keeping up with it, I'm confused.

Is it a single player game, a coop game, a pvp game, an MMO or a mix of all of these?

Basically it is Borderlands with PVP and an MMO style hub. Except better than Borderlands, I didn't like Borderlands (even in co-op). Free roam is just as dull as Blands though. PVP is where it's at!

Fun time with GAF.

Good times, enjoyed it a lot. I need to dig my working mic out of the box, I'm not sure how anyone copes with the one which comes with the PS4 though, it's not very comfortable to use. I'll be on later for the event that's happening if there's any free slots available in GAF fireteams.

What's the best way to get more glimmer (money)? wanna buy a new spaceship...

Activate Ether Seeds, kill Fallen in an area with captains.
At least i can't think of any other way.
Oh and look for chests, ain't reliable way to get money though.

And why does the game offer alternate ships when they're merely cosmetic and only for loading screens and navigation menu? Will they have some other effect later on?

I do hope there's more variety in weapon classes though. So far there's

Main:
Auto Rifle
Scout Rifle
Pulse Rifle
Handcannon

Special:
Sniper Rifle
Fusion Rifle
Shotgun

Heavy:
Rocket Launcher
Machine Gun

Seems extremely limited for a game of this scope. I really want to see some alien weaponry.

All of the above. Although no part of it is necessarily "single-player," and you'll want a mix of all game types for the best experience, IMO.

You have Story missions which you can run alone, or with up to 2 other friends, which have closed off, instanced areas, and some open areas where other random players can be phased in.

Strikes are like dungeons. 3 players. The one we've seen so far as three main events, and you get two special loot rewards for completing the whole thing.

PvP has 7 gametypes, which I think you can look at on Bungie.net

Finally, there's Explore mode, which has mission beacons you can pick up to point you off in a direction to do some really small task. However, these missions aren't really the point of this mode, and mainly serve to give you a little direction and XP; the mode is, as the name implies, about exploration. Players will phase in to your world, though they won't always be close to you, and the number of other players is usually under 10, to avoid things feeling cramped.

Because, who wants to get seen in a scrub beater ship that you found in some dumpster somewhere?
Hell naw.

Hit the level cap on the Sekipus Prime or whatever fight. Anyone saying they're not hooked needs to give it a few crucible games and this mission---that was awesome. I need to get a headset.

There needs to be an in game map with custom waypoints for explore mode.

What is the purpose of the Strange Coin you get from public events?
This was actually addressed by the devs. Their reasoning for no map / orientation is that it forces the player to explore and take mental pictures. If you forget where you're at, it inherently causes you to wander and find new things, reveal new lore, dumps you into events, etc.In that regard I can totally see where they are comign from. It took me the entire weekend to get a sense of where stuff was in old Russia, during alpha. Now it's still in my head but not as fresh and I'm wandering around, finding new stuff.

It seems this game will really take off at level 9. All the bad ass Green and Blue (Rare) drops I've gotten for weapons, armor and class items started at min. level 9. Bungie knew what they were doing with this level cap. Raise it on the last day Bungie, give us a little morsel lol.

The only thing I am disappointed with going on the Alpha and Beta of Destiny is the Tower, I was expecting something more Citadel from Mass Effect with the possibility of seeing this last city of earth, and not a somewhat large outside with some adjoining rooms. For what I assume is the big hub it isn't very grand really.

Otherwise I'm totally sold on Destiny, happy to have pre-ordered it months ago.

you will.....it will just fall under one of those categories
we didn't get off earth yet to explore other worlds that may have better weapons

so after playing devil's lair you can really see from that instance where the game can really shine. However, i just dont see myself buying this game, i dont like the pvp ( endless spawning and dying and spawning and killing is boring) and i dont see bungie
activision/blizzard
giving us a lot of content that isn't DLC that you have to constantly pay.

You can play on your own like Borderlands for example, but if you are online you will see other players in the world, you can ignore them or interact with them; I found this makes the exploration more entertaining than had it been like regular single player with no random people around. Strike missions require co-op and are played with other players, the game has matchmaking for that or you can team up with friends. PVP is PVP, there are different weapon types which get standardised into the same stats, so really you just have to focus on using a weapon that feels good for your play style rather than how much damage and shit it does.

There are some MMO elements as you can go to the tower and see dozens of players, in the normal game you only see a handful of random players in the same world.

Guys where do I get my first sparrow?

Don't know how far you are, but if you are far enough you can spawn it by taking out the ghost and press square.

Felt like the beta was a great taste for what's to come. Still feel like there's so much we don't know about, which can lead to amazement or disappointment.

Love the feel of the shooting, the art is incredible, and the little things Bungie does right, like the sound design on the vehicle when you have the turbo boost going, are prevalent everywhere.

I'm curious to know how much the weapons will cause the way you play the game to differ, and if coming back to replay missions will still be fun a month after release. Im fascinated to know more.

But I think at the absolute worst, they have a situation equivalent to the first Assassins Creed game: a fascinating idea, but one that isn't fully realized, meaning Destiny 2 should be amazing.

I find the concept of the different factions for the crucible really interesting. I've noticed the New Monarchy, Dead Orbit, and Future War Cult. Are we expected to align ourselves with one of these and stick with it? Or are we able to go bouncing around between them? And I wonder how we get the equipment to start working on the reputation for it.

Also dead orbit looks the coolest and I wonder if there are more in the full game.
