That's a Hunter :)

Quick question from a new player.

Last night I playing solo and made it to the 2nd or 3rd level/board and it said it was a board for a level 3.

Everything was fine for a while..I was encountering enemies my level and all of the sudden I go through this sewer area and come upon a yellow enemy who was level 18 and immune to my bullets. Kills me in one or two shots.

What happened?

There was also another player in my group who was level 12 (he was on the same board as me but I wasn't officially in a group with him or anything).

I'll ask again since this topic moves so fast!

I have a couple of questions regarding male and female guardians and races. Do all male races have the same running animation while on the Tower?

Also, in terms of body armor/clothes, do they look the same on both male and female, or is the cut slightly different depending on the gender (for example Dark Souls)?

i think they look different. the females are way more slender. i dont know how many other changes are made between males and females for the same piece of equipment.

Finally able to get my damn Destiny GE out of the clutches of UPS. And yes, my box is broken. Sadly, I will be at work for at least 4 more hours. Then I will make sure my disc works and can install, and then HOPEFULLY I will be able to play this damn game. :)

I feel like everyone is already way past me. Gotta remind myself not to rush through stuff and to take my time and enjoy shit.

The ones that get a quick reload with a kill on the last bullet are really good in that instance. But yeah, you can get overwhelmed while reloading at times which is the main thing to be aware of.

That makes sense. Imagine this setup:

Warlock with Surge for 15 seconds + arm gear with quick handcannon reloading + last bullet fired gives quick reload + being specced into agility.

I already have a similar setup for auto rifles. I'll make a video of it. It's terrifying how fast I can reload auto rifles when using Surge.

Players of any higher levels can always go back to lower leveled planets.

Also there are crazy strong monsters on every planet. Not sure why, but they're there.

I know. Hunters are dirty. And yet his character looks awesome.

OK, fine, the capes look badass.

Oops, I misread your post. :)

Dying doesn't penalize your in any particular way, right? Left the game unattended for a moment had apparently I died 8 times when I came back lol

I think the Scout Rifle nerf was a bit much. Handcannons and Pulse Rifles put perform then almost every time now. That said, HCs and PRs are a blast.

Haha, that's actually exactly how I am now. I just found a good set of arms with the handcannon reload that I need to unlock.

I love handcannons but have yet to try them in PvP. I did in the beta but they were tough to use and the AR outshined everything.

I'm legitimately torn right now. I can't decide if I should buy this one.
How fun is it GAF?

It's fun, but I'd try it out for a good three hours before buying it. If you enjoyed the beta and want more of what you did in it, then go for it.

The level is just the level of enemies once you get into the darkness area where the actual mission takes place (which pops up on your screen and tells you respawning is restricted). You explored and went to a different area :).

So at level 3 (my level) how am I supposed to kill a level 18 character who is immune to my bullets?

People have brought up issues with the game in this thread that I can't exactly argue with...

That being said I am in love with the game, but have been playing it exclusively with my friends.

My take on it too. I understand and agree with all of the complaints but they don't phase me much.

I mostly play fighting games. And I loathe Halo these days. But Destiny is kinda clicking with me. Graphics is a little underwhelming after playing the likes of Killzone SF and Infamous, but the atmosphere and gunplay is delightful. I still don't get how the online component works though, I just play on my own and just ignore anyone who happens to jump. This is my first loot MMO type of game I ever played.

Really? So I went to an area I wasn't supposed to go to?

Well you can go in there technically, it's just you're underleveled to handle those enemies at the moment.

Speaking of, I should go and kill those bastards in Old Earth and that Ogre on that cliff. They fucked me over in the beta. I'm now OP so I will eat them.

Another call to fellow ps4 guardians.

Uk player.
Psn: astropoff

Will be online almost always between now and Sunday evening.

Pvp and pve.

As a loot-whore myself, what is the loot like in this game? Does it come at a good pace? Are you upgrading all the time or only when something good drops?

Feel free to add me, playing on PS4.

Getting off work in just a few minutes, going home to my level 8 Hunter.
The little bit I got to play last night was just not long enough.

Do other join or are other teams merged?

Well after I did that last night some guy who was around my friend and I automatically joined my fireteam. (I think ) He may have pressed R3 or something. But when I change it to public I get more people in my maps

I beat the game, and I'm seriously disappointed. I love Bungie, but I don't feel Destiny does anything noteworthy for the FPS genre. Perhaps I'm even more disappointed because Bungie has toted Destiny as the next 'Halo'; a game-changer.

Halo already happened. There will never be another 'Halo'.

I find it sad to hear how Destiny was originally conceived as a high fantasy open-world RPG. Bungie has already made their mark on shooters. Destiny feels like a huge case of playing it safe, which isn't what I've come to expect from Bungie. Fundamentally, the game is good. Polished, pretty, the gunplay is what you've come to expect from the studio behind Halo. But nothing more. Forgettable.

Now, marvel at what could have been, had Bungie stuck with the high fantasy genre:

We could have had something really special here, an open-world RPG with Bungie's world design and a new kind of action gameplay.

What, another mmo set in a high-fantasy universe? No thanks.

At around level 10, it gets okay. Don't expect Diablo 3's levels of loot. The beginning is rough since you're only swaping gear out for hard upgrades. Later on, you pick gear based on your playstyle.
