Alright, here's what we got so far:

What features/fixes should Bungie bring to Destiny before the first expansion?

- In-game Clan Management
- Guild Halls
- Improved encounter design
- Custom games
- Fileshare
- Improved enemy AI
- Better story design/flow
- Improved variety of Patrol missions (possibly more context, too)
- Ability to skip cutscenes
- Stats on certain Bonds ((?) legendary armor?) instead of being solely cosmetic
- More loot drops for earlier levels
- Decreased loading times
- Public (proximity) voice chat

Come on, people. We need more stuff (probably).

The problems for me are more fundamental. I just can't get down with how they handle weapons in the game. I'm shooting essentially the same primary weapon 98% of the time. You're not constantly switching between radically different weapons like you were in Halo. The grenade cooldown thing is a total bummer. And melees play a reduced role since they do negligible damage (except against fodder enemies). Basically, the "holy trinity" has been totally dismantled.

Armour/Gear "loadouts" or "suits" that you can save and swap between. I like to switch between several different setups depending on what I'm doing at the time, what weapon I'm using primarily, subclass, etc. I should be able to "save" a setup to quickly swap between them when I want to rather than doing each piece all one by one.

-Axe the orbital layer entirely. Just have the map be part of the interface where you go to head back into orbit now.

I got you two down. Just waiting for more stuff to add.

Any tips for getting public events to start? Do they just happen based on a countdown? Yesterday I got two in a row, within a 5 minute window. Do I have to be in specific locations?

Anyone know if you can dye specific pieces of armor different colors? Or is it like I fear and it just overwrites everything equipped to be a specific color.

After about 12 hours with it...I think I'd score this game at the 7.5 mark. There's a lot to like in the gameplay, but the flaws of the overall package are numerous, glaring, and frustrating.

What loot? I think there has been a total of 2 loot containers in the last 3 hours. Everything else is gained at the tower.

Which is probably my biggest complaint. There isn't enough loot acquisition. It kind of balances out though since most of the gear you get tends to be an improvement, but it's not as satisfying as getting tons of loot thrown at you.

Nope, shaders do the whole outfit, can't color individual pieces.

Edit-You can equip and end quip shaders, so I assume you can simply unequip and have everything go back to the original colors.

Do you really need to fill this thread with walls of complaint lists?

A list is better than a bunch of people regurgitating the same thing over and over as has happened previously in this very thread.

Besides, these are suggestions for improvements based on valid complaints. I'm not putting stupid ones in there.

Got my first rare: sniper, arc damage. Ability is "shoot to loot," which is a weird one, and I can either get High-explosive ammo or snapshot. Not bad :)

I just want adjustable audio in game, especially for headsets...if you don't have ps4 gold you can get your ears blown off. I don't even remember the last game that doesn't let you tweak music, voice and sound-effects and over mic talk.

At max level things do get a bit better getting loot with random strike missions.
But weapons there is not a lot of variation in the stats as far as i know. All the vender legendary do 300 as max damage.

Would be cooler if it was more like Diablo where the base damage can roll between X and Y.

Gonna go crazy on vanguard stuff for the next few days now that i hit 20.

Was curious - are we possibly going to schedule (either here or in the clan thread) groups of people for the Vault of Glass?? I wanna see dat raid so bad.

Improve enemy AI? The fuck is this shit? Enemy AI is fantastic and one of the shining accomplishments of the game.

I think your list is pretty constructive personally.

I'd much rather have people coming in and telling their thoughts or experiences (positive or not) than you inciting people into to spewing as many complaints as they can come up with.

and there are some dumb ones on there.

Vox
(Venus spoiler) are kinda boring to fight. Any tips on how to fight the
Minotaurs
in particular? Can't for the life of me find their weak spot.

lolwut? No it doesn't. Diablo was never about the story. It's blast your way to the end of the quest, get the gear and move on.

Uh, Diablo has always been about the story, from the first to the third (though the third was told terribly). There has always been the overarching storyline of Diablo taking over the world, the corruption of man and in Diablo 3 the corruption of angels. You are kidding yourself if you think Diablo has no story.

I think Destiny has been great so far. But this whole bunch of people getting bummed out was to be expected. The game was hyped to unrealistic proportions.

getting some pretty good rares while playing the strike playlist, got my Titan up to 21 now. I might go back and start grinding my Defender subclass for the harder strikes and keep the Striker for PVP.

:(

Destiny is far more last gen than current-gen that they wanted to admit. As I said in the other thread, Halo Combat Evolved was more ambitious. The potential is still there somewhere.

You know what this game is(*IMO of course)?
It is HALO in an alternate dimension! I have finished the moon and to me, that is the best description for this game so far.

1. Gunplay

-Gunplay is quite similar to Halo gunplay, minus the variety (which is expected with a new IP) All of the gun types to me feel very similar to guns in Halo and are comparable to the first halo in terms of numbers of choices and feeling when shooting.

-The punch action feels exactly like it did in Halo but seems to be a bit less powerful. You get a grenade and access to weapons like Rocket Launchers and machine-guns. Both are very similar gameplay-wise to their halo counterparts.

2.Visual/Art style-

-The Art style is awesome but a tad generic in Destiny and shares some reference to many sci-fi works. First noticeable HALO type design is the players and their armor. To me, this is very similar to the design of SPARTAN's in HALO, especially the SPARTAN's that you could customize for online play in reach and in Halo 4.

-The design and animations of the enemy races is also very similar. Some of the Fallen soldiers have pretty much the same animations as the Elites in the covenant, other kinda look like they have the Jackel's animations from the covenant.

-The weapons look like standard futuristic stuff and is as similar to halo as any other scifi piece of entertainment. There are also some weapons used by the enemies that look visually very similar to some of the halo enemy's guns'. For example, there is a gun that the fallen use that is very similar to the needler and another one their bigger soldiers use that is similar to the Hunter's gun from Halo.

3. General Story Similarities-

-Guardians- They are a standing army of specialized soldiers tasked with the defense of the last city on Earth... Sounds very similar to Spartans no?

-The Traveler- a mysterious, city-sized sphere in Destiny that hangs low over the Earth. It may be a bit of a stretch but it is this game's Big Mysterious thing that you do not know what it truly is/does until later, much like the Halo's were in the game Halo.

-The Hive- An enemy faction in the game that overwhelms the players and is said to be the primary reason for The Traveler's sacrifice They are basically the Flood from halo. A powerful group of aliens that seem to have a central intelligence and are a swarming type enemy.

-The Fallen- Humanoid type aliens and one of the primary type of antagonists for the game. Comparable to The covenant they are a Hierarchy of aliens who have binded together with a common purpose and have set themselves up as one of the primary enemies in Destiny. The Covenant Hierarcy is based of off religion where as The Fallen Hierarcy is based off of Nobility.

All in all, If you lived on Earth #255 you would probably have a Destiny 5 for XBONE next year instead of Halo 5!

Everyone criticizing the story should just read what I'm writing when the first chapter comes out by hopefully next week.

:D
:D
:D

I should stop advertising, shouldn't I?

What does this mean? Chapter? Please explain.

Bungie said:
We like to tell big stories and we want people to put the Destiny universe on the same shelf they put Lord of the Rings, Harry Potter or Star Wars

From what I have understood from this thread, the story is non-existent and/or poorly told. That's just too bold and cocky of a claim when your game is not relaying the story that you were trying to tell your audience.

You can debate the list. I don't try to act like I'm the sole proprietor of these things. Hell, all I really care for are the first three things, personally.

Also, to your first point, these are suggestions for improvement. Nothing more, nothing less. Suggestions arise from complaints, and the same complaints have been levied over and over again by multiple people. Better to have it all organized without (too many) redundancies.

Improve enemy AI? The fuck is this shit? Enemy AI is fantastic and one of the shining accomplishments of the game.

Sometimes it's good, others it's pretty bad. They're not great at exploiting your weaknesses, seem to lose track of you pretty easily, they've got way too much respect for the instance boundaries (which is a problem since leaving the instance isn't penalized*), and there's an irritating tendency for melee enemies to try and rush you in a single-file line.

Uh, Diablo has always been about the story, from the first to the third (though the third was told terribly). There has always been the overarching storyline of Diablo taking over the world, the corruption of man and in Diablo 3 the corruption of angels. You are kidding yourself if you think Diablo has no story.
The comparisons to Diablo kind of end with the loot, though. A huge part of the appeal to Diablo for me is the crazy, colourful and effective rune upgrades to skills - there's always something exploding or sparking or engulfing enemies in a burst of colour and it just feels so satisfying. Destiny is so drab, just from an art point of view.

I'm sure they'll expand out this kind of stuff as it goes. Well, I hope so. The potential is there.

It bums me out that people aren't liking or having fun with Destiny. I'm personally loving it even after recognizing it's shortcomings. It's like I have to bury my head in the sand to drown out Destiny negativity to enjoy the game.

I barely come into the OT anymore since I know there'll be something being debated on how mediocre Destiny is. Is there a safe haven for Destiny players looking to go the ignorance is bliss route?

I'm writing a story in Destiny's universe that I'm going to post in chapter increments (don't know where, though).

The hope is that Bungie-senpai notices me and I can die happy.

Or, better yet, that application I might submit would look just a bit better.
