Q1) Is there a good "Spinmetal" farming guide? All of a sudden I need spin metal to upgrade my legendary weapon... annoying collectathon...

Q2) Just got to Vanguard Rank 1, so do you get anything extra for wearing a Vanguard emblem?

Any word if the legendary armour you get from this Queen's Wrath stuff goes to light level 30 like the Raid gear?

I am really upset that raid gear isn't guaranteed, like come on, 4 nights spent doing that and not one armour piece to help level up.

Bungie pls

Do queens mission.

Missions hard/long, return to orbit.

First level where you scan ship, scan computer then kill reksis - easy as pie even with the modifiers, rince, repeat, trash the stupid legendaries for ass shards because theyre more useful..

Okay, you answered my question that I posted a minute ago, haha. Thank you!

Well hopefully with these queen's bounties we can score a legendary AR soon. As far as weapon rolls go, the large majority of weapons that I decrypt are under level 20, it feels like the the most common 20's that I get are sniper rifles or rocket launchers.

All I get is the stuff that I don't even need anymore, snipers, hand cannons, pulse rifles... While this happens to me, all of my buddies laugh at me as they dismantle tons of Shingen-Es. Bungie just needs to allow trading or some shit. What use do I, as a Warlock have of a Hunter piece for example, what use does my Hunter friend have of a Legendary Warlock helmet? Some design choices in this game just baffle the heck out of me.

So these Queen's missions are random?

I've gotten 2 hard story missions in a row -- completed the first but this 2nd one I want to skip. Can I quit and then use the Queen's Wrath token to load up another random mission? Or will I lose the token?

If you end up with a mission you don't like, just return to orbit and re-roll. You won't lose the token.

Week 1: FUCK LEGENDARIES ARE SO HARD TO GET GOD DAMN THE LOOT SYSTEM SUCKS IN THIS GAME

Week 2: Trash the garbage legendaries, there's so many of them

RNGesus be praised! Finally got a legendary from a blue while patrolling the moon.

As I haven't done any of the heroic stuff (because foreveralone.jpg), do the damage modifiers (arc/void/solar) count for damage you deal as wall as receive?

Made it to the gorgon maze last night in the raid with a group of friends. Had to stop because it was very late but that's the most fun I've had in a game for a looooong time.
Love how team work and communication is absolutely required to move forward.

Fuck these god damn epic cabal

The Cabal remind me of a cross between the bulky good guy aliens from the move The 5th Element and Bulkhead from Transformers.

Headshotting or footshotting them in air hilariously sends them spinning and flipping to the ground.

BTW, I've been stuck at level 22 for two days... I just need another piece of Rare armor at base level 19 or 20... annoying RNG... I don't want to cave farm anymore...

A good place to farm spinmetal is in old russia, when you spawn in go to your left where all the planes are. That area contains spinmetal and chests you can loop around for. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rBCGNj2CCmY

Or:
"we spend two weeks grinding the hell out of the game for a full set of legendaries and now you make it rain legendaries"

They'd unzip and contaiminate our breakfast too if they could.

You getting armor that isn't of your own class was Bungie's attempt, for better or worse, to get you to build more than one character.

I have a lot of legendary hunter gear in my stash (I currently main a Titan), so I know the feeling of getting stuff you can't use. I'm not against trading, I really would like to be able to help out my friends if I get a piece of gear that I'm just going to dismantle. What are some negatives to trading that I might not be thinking of?

Diablo 3 used to have a trading system, but they removed it with the patch that also added "smarter loot". It's super-easy to gear up in Diablo 3 in comparison to a game like destiny, as D3's RNG is much more likely to drop items for your class. And when you get an unidentified legendary drop - its actually a legendary. I think Bungie will eventually make some tweaks to the loot system, or at least add trading (pretty sure they said this was on the radar). I'd also be fine with no trading system if the drop system was tweaked.

Haha speaking of legendaries from blues, I couldn't believe my eyes last night when my brother identified two blue engrams and got legendary gear. Of course, the gear was for a Warlock and he's a Hunter :)

Yet another "oh no, the filthy casuals will get good gear" elitist whiner.

Yeah, the only other legendary I found was a legendary engram that turned into a Titan helm. I'm a hunter. Though I'll probably make a Titan much later on.

Note the shield buff for all your team is only a light version, it's like an extra 50% shield so it's not too much in PvP.

The shield you get for staying inside the bubble is a good 300% bonus.

Yes but you regain that bonus any time you pass through the bubble. Camping inside the shield is nice and all but only until some one doesn't one shot it with their own super.

You getting armor that isn't of your own class was Bungie's attempt, for better or worse, to get you to build more than one character.

Instead of making me create a new character to redo everything all over again, why not just add MORE content that I want to do with my one character? If this is their idea of extending my playtime, by redoing everything with only a different character, then I am very dissapointed...

It's that and the glimmer. I have a ton of glimmer and nothing to do with it. Let me buy materials with it for example, instead of farming for hours on end, doing the same loot runs over and over. I sure hope some of these problems are addressed. The game is fun but it could be so much better...

Yet another "oh no, the filthy casuals will get good gear" elitist whiner.

Yea, don't see why anyone who be bothered for making Legendaries slightly less of a pain to get. You still need to do a tough mission to get one and it's still random.

just did a queens wrath mission before i left for the day, the modifier was a pain in the ass. guessing you can only run the mission once a day to get loot?

Q1) Is there a good "Spinmetal" farming guide? All of a sudden I need spin metal to upgrade my legendary weapon... annoying collectathon...

I haven't watched these yet, but I found these videos:

Spinmetal
Helium Coils
Spirit Bloom
Relic Iron

My general strategy has been pretty simple: Search each outdoor enemy encampment pretty thoroughly. In general, each encampment (especially with a structure or base) is going to have at least one (sometimes more) lying around. Only area that's a bitch for spinmetal is the mothyards. Don't bother searching that area too hard and rotate to others. Also, be sure to search around nooks and corners as well since that's often where you'll find green chests which will also give you mats.

the psions in dust palace are actually quite funny... If you manoeuvre them right near to the edge, a rocket or a super can blast them right off. Don't even need to fight them. It is a bit tricky to do though haha.

Meanwhile here I am at level 27, still using a lvl 18 uncommon Shingen-C. Not even Rare. ARs just won't drop for me, it's the only piece of green equipment that I have. Bungie pls.

wow, and i thought the purple drops were bad. I'm sitting on 4 great rare AR's.
Still using a green shotty for pvp on occasion though, it has a decent clip and upgraded it fires auto... not AR auto full auto but hold down the trigger and let it rip (and kick).

damn, miss one night on the forum and looks like tons happened!

I guess my evening is going to have a lot of loading screens...

Maybe I can round up two people to do these missions tonight EST time.

I've got to get legendary weapons, I've had blue for far too long.

The shield you get for staying inside the bubble is a good 300% bonus.

50% is enough to win in a one on one fight, or multiple enemies if I can get to and from my shield bubble enough, with the 300% thing I'm stuck in my bubble hoping people are foolish enough to come in.

Morning folks.

What's new? I'm at work so I can't log into Destiny :(. How are the Queen's missions? Also, what's the nightfall weekly and heroic weekly?

Also, just checked out Bungie's weekly update:

Summary:
The latest patch for Destiny reduces the difficulty of a number of activities, as well as fixes issues when completing the Vault of Glass.

Activities

Missions
Shrine of Oryx: Reduced difficulty by removing majors from Heroic tiers
Sword of Crota: Reduced difficulty by removing majors from Heroic tiers
Exclusion Zone: Reduced difficulty by removing majors from Heroic tiers

Raids
Dropping the relic at the end of the raid will no longer result in a team wipe. This will prevent players being stuck at a black screen after the raid.
You will remain dead if you were dead when the mission ended. That will be addressed by a future patch.

Huh. I thought the point of heroics were to be more difficult than normal missions.

Also, I like how there's no mention of the cave of wonders.
