Damn.

This game got me hooked again  Sweet Jesus on a stick.

Anyway ... what's the best (fastest) way to reach 320+? I've been doing Iron Banner non-stop but my RNG remains shit. I bought the Auto-Rifle and Rocket Launcher once I hit rank 5. Immediatly after I spend 180 Marks I get both of those weapons in 10 minutes *sigh*

So, doing King's Fall on Hard rewards both Normal AND Hard drops right? :) Any chance I can get better stuff outta that?

I'm still not 100% sure what I should grind though.

The hard mode raid should give you some decent loot relatively quickly, but it's not the only way. For example I'm 335 now and have only run the raid once since the update.

Other good ways to get loot would be the challenge of the elders (on all 3 chars if you can), Shaxx's weekly bounties, the nightfall, crucible rank up, gunsmith rank up, house of judgment rank up and also any faction rank up. Use the boosters that you get from the sterling treasures and just keep ranking up as often as you can.
Also hit the court of oryx for a decent artifact, and remember to pop 3 of coins any time you're going to be fighting an ultra.

The CoE modifiers/bonuses are becoming such a mess. The first two weeks made sense, but last week and this week are terrible.

The most fun way to do it in my opinion is to have one beneficial and one detrimental modifier. The bonus should always be aligned with the modifiers too. For example brawler/melee kills, catapult/grenade kills, Airborne/in air kills, specialist/multi kills, and small arms/precision kills.

Tbf the Challenge of Elders is anything but challenging but yeh it can make it a tedious (last week esp) experience grinding out the 30/90k

I was watching some of Dans Overwatch stream, what did you make of it?

The strange thing is - the game is hardly a challenging game - nerfing weapon builds just takes away from variety - not challenge.

Tbh 98% of the nerfs they did was because of pvp. Until they find a way to separate the two and figure it out that we want to feel powerful in pve its gonna continue to be like this.

So I just received one of those PSN scam messages telling you that you reached some kind of milestone and that if you send them your email, they'll gift you $50. Bitch please. You're user name is JonathanNeil5 and you say you're name is Carl Brown. Fuck off, dude. I know your game. Can't exactly fool me.

Dude even went as far as sending me a friend request.

Just simply reported the account and message to Sony. I'll let them deal with that.

The weapons I use and like got hit pretty hard. Shotguns are no longer fun in PvE; the most fun I ever had with Destiny was when they were awesome and I ran my heavy stealth build. Then they hit it for a 40% reduction, faster drop off, less ammo....it's just so frustrating. Sidearms never were useful and I don't use them. I don't like using fusion rifles, and so didn't ever really use them either. The combined effect of the adjustments to the snipers - scopes, scope time, stability, clip - made me feel like Bungie was going after the one remaining class of secondary weapons I still liked to use, and I really felt the cumulative effect of that after the patch. It was frustrating and sucked a decent amount of the fun from using them. That my main was a 1,000 Yard Stare meant it got hit even harder, despite Bungie themselves saying it was balanced. Then they whacked my precocious MIDA - again while noting that it was already balanced.

They've played whack-a-mole where they're hitting each weapon down harder, and finding a new weapon sticking up a bit higher, so they hit it down, then repeat. For a game about power fantasies, I feel like Bungie does not actually want us to feel powerful in PvE any longer, with all the weapon nerfs. If you do, they'll take a whack at it even if it's balanced. By their own admission, and actions.

And yeah, sterling treasures + the implementation of chroma pushed me over. I really can't express how huge of a turn off it is to get a grab bag of loot each week. I don't want it, I don't value it, and it actively subtracts from my desire to play the game because it's slowly tapping the brakes on playing for the loot. I don't play for some flashy box opening animation and free loot each week for signing in. I play(ed) for wonderful gun play, feeling awesome about my character, and getting good loot through activities. I feel like those things are gone or going fast in the game. I just don't get it. I can't ignore how bummed I was about what it meant for the direction the loot game is going. The hugely cumbersome chroma implementation did it as well. Great feature. Aggressively player unfriendly approach.

This is not the Bungie I've been a fan of since 2001.

So they hit the only weapons I liked to use hard, then implemented a monetization scheme to the loot I find straight up depressing to see in the game. I put it down and walked away, hoping this fall's expansion restores some of the magic.

For the first time, I'm pessimistic about the direction of the game. It's turning into something I simply don't want to play, even with new/refreshed activities. And I loved this game up through Taken King.

Well your pretty much right on point. I've found that the game is still fun to play.

I replaced shotguns with swords. Swords are more fun IMO. I think they nerfed shotguns in PvE to make swords feel more powerful.

Otherwise yeah as a PvE player the fact that they keep nerfing my favorite weapons because of PvP really sucks.

This is the kind of game where you want to feel powerful in PvE.

Helmet and gauntlets again. All Spektar too. Already have the full Titan set but dammit give me a desolate piece. Or give my Warlock the spektar chest piece!

Get a set of gear that works with your favourite class and infuse it as high as you can. CoE run will get you a higher LL weapon; 3 a piece of armour. They will also get you special weapon infusion fodder (exotics), ghosts and class items, and blues up to 320. CoO will get you artifacts.

Use three of coins. Do not decrypt exotic engrams until that slot is the lowest LL, then decrypt and equip/infuse.

Get rep packages-- be at your highest LL when accepting them.

Have gone nearly 20 LLs in three weeks on three characters without juggling weapons/ghosts between them which would have made it go faster since 44% of your LL is from those four items.

Immediatly after I spend 180 Marks I get both of those weapons in 10 minutes *sigh*

Most of my drops were infusion fodder while the vendor ones were good rolls.

I like doing the whole raid. A good team can blast through totems and WP quick. And I could use more 335 heavies and 335 ghosts. :p

I will be happy to do Golgy CM one last time and say goodbye to this raid =P

OT: I got the last desolate piece for my warlock today. $0 spent on treasure. Taken emote get. #feelsgood

Ok, anyone ever deal with a pulsing blue light on the PS4 when powering the system on? No audio or video?

If it doesn't start up after a few minutes keep your finger on the power button to shut the down. I found it normally happens if I've put the console into sleep mode as soon as I've shut a game down and not given it chance to finish processing.

If that doesn't work pull the power. Not the best way as it may end up in it having to check and rebuild the database

Already tried both, didn't work. When I awoke this morning it was pulsing orange, powered it off then on and now it's stuck pulsing blue. RIP

Have you tried booting it in safe mode? Pull the power. Then when you turn it on keep the button pressed. The ps4 will beep once as if it's turned on, then again shortly after to go into safe mode. From there you can manually rebuild the database or use one of the other options. It's how I fixed mine in the past.

Worth noting that a few months after I had that issue my ps4 started to constantly eject discs and wouldn't accept any. Plenty of fixes for it on the Internet but over time they stopped working so I ended up getting it replaced while still within the 12 months period

Thanks for the NFs Looney, Macello and Gong. 2 out of 3 exotics is a Y2 record I think =p
of course one dropped a 320 ghost

Yeah, tried everything I could find out there. Tried safe mode but just powers off after second beep. Calling Sony to get it replaced hopefully.

Does rerolling exotic gear give you a chance at increasing the stats? Or does it only redistribute the stat points you already have?

Like say, I have a graviton with the stats I need, but they are way too low (>10 points away from max), can I get closer to the max by rerolling it or will it always be >10 points away from max?

Edit: Wiped, isn't the blinking blue light the connection via hdmi? I've read something about that sometime ago, not sure though.

Do I have a glitched Artifact or something?

I had been trying to decide which Artifact of mine I should infuse to 335 based on stats and I have one that is INT +36 / DIS + 90.

That is 126 total.

All my other Artifacts are barely over 100 at similar Light Levels.

I think 131 stat points is the max at 335.
Edit: Pandora I'll run it later, still have some stuff to do. Maybe in an hour or so.

I have had artifacts in the past that have rolled pure intellect coming in at 112 when upgraded. But as soon you apply an upgrade it switches to an int/dis or int/str split. Very annoying

It's not glitched, it's just good. That's the kind of high roll you need for a T12 build.

SGA for this week's CoE...

If you already have full intellect and a raid helm with shine on, bad juju provides no additional benefit. Just be aware of this. It might be more beneficial to pick something else.
TL;DR: There is a hard cap on how much Super you can get off of a kill. With 300+ Intellect, raid helmets bring you up to that cap before Bad Juju, Raze-Lighter, or anything else factors in. Get one. Inverse Shadow and Bad Juju stack, but you get cut off just short of getting the full benefit because you hit the cap (300+ Int). Raze-Lighter's "Thrive by the Sword" perk (the one that gives more Super on sword kills) doesn't do a damn thing if you're already at the hard cap, so use Scabbard instead if you're using a Raid helmet (or even with Inverse Shadow, really).
Still TL;DR: Shine On > Inverse Shadow.
