The fun thing about these lists is that you can always tell what generation a person grew up during, based on which generation gets the most praise. Throwing in a few super-retro or current day titles is just a sly way to throw off what seems pretty clear.

I know these lists are usually pretty light on PC games, but this is the worst offender yet.

There are so many multiplatform titles that it can be taken either way. My running theory is that this list was made by people who primarily started gaming young around the beginning of the xbox 360 generation, which would explain the few PS2 picks they have listed and the ton of games that were popular on the 360, both multiplat and exclusive.

Judging by some of the other picks like League, Bloodborne, and Civ, they probably went from Xbox 360 to early gen PS4 to PC/Switch. They skipped the PS3 console entirely and their Nintendo picks are too sporadic, which means they might have emulated, or borrowed those games from a friend, or played the newer versions of them on Nintendo's online service.

Titles like Mario 64, Earthbound, and SMW were probably recommended to them by someone or at most, they figured they should at least play it based on a collective review score from places like Metacritic.

I'll never understand the Red Dead Redemption 2 appeal. Great story, sure, but the gameplay is atrocious.

I disagree with a lot on this list, but it's still better than what I usually see going around, specially since it didn't put BOTW at 1st (most overrated game of all time IMO).
