DF: Kirby and the Forgotten Land Switch 2 Edition)

The update gave a reason to jump back in. I only made it to 30% completion on OG Switch but playing at higher res and smooth FPS makes the game absolutely wonderful.

dynamic res. now it makes sense why I counted 1080p in that Treehouse demo stream.
I know you said it before, but then it was obvious to me that it was dynamic res, just like any other Nintendo upgrade so far.

I already completed the 100% and it looked and moved delicious, I think the Switch 2 version highly worth the price.

Now, I wonder why it wasn't 60 fps on Switch 1 other more graphically complex games were 60 fps like Super Mario Odyssey and Metroid Prime Remaster.

Lazy? They added so to the game.....what hell you guys are talking about?
They want all games to be completely changed when receiving visual upgrades, what they don't know if that many of us don't want that and only want resolution and frame rate boost because we already like how they look like

From what I've seen of this game, this would have been the PERFECT first Nintendo game to use DLSS on Switch 2. The relatively slow camera motion would have helped obscure any AI upscale artifacts (looking at you, Fast Fusion!). But AGAIN, Nintendo is allergic to the best features of their own new hardware.

They could have pushed more aggressive upscaling and had a better resolved final upscaled image with DLSS, and would not have had to use that after thought AA solution at all.

I bought the upgrade but haven't tried it yet. I'm super excited to, but Silksong comes first.

They would require the game engine to expose motion vectors for that, that's probably a delicate change, don't expect them to get their hands so deep until next year wave at least

So this is like a Mario 3D World + Bowsers Fury upgrade for $20?
Conceptually, yeah. (Except the whole you need to rebuy the base game if you havent yet since the switch wasnt BC with the wii u regarding sm3dw)

I started a new save and just recently completed the second area, I personally think the upgrade was worth it. It has more in-game value changes than what they did with botw/totk

i still do not get why the extra 10 each that is greed

they should make the perfomance patch free and sell the DLC extra tbh.
They kinda do that if you already own your original copy.....I did that and since already 100% based game, I mediately jump to Star Crossed World.

Oh so you are talking about performance improvement be separate from Star Crossed World content?

yes.
especially given that the only real change is indeed a technical one. the main game wasn't adjusted in any way outside of increasing the resolution and framerate.

the free patch that Bowser's Fury got for example is arguably more meaningful and a more dramatic improvement over the original version. especially in handheld mode

yes but its 20$ because it has extra game play mario does not so that is why its free
I was talking about the upgrade from the Wii U version to the Switch version of Mario 3D World. I bought the game on Wii U and then had to rebuy it at full price to get the enhancements and new content. This is a much better deal in that sense.

But it's comparable as far as performance and visual upgrades + additional content?

Having an upgrade path for existing owners is good.
Hmm I think it's superior since Switch wasn't that much more powerful than Wii U, but yeah it's exactly it comparing the original Wii U game vs the Switch 2 version since it has Bowser's Furry and visual upgrades

$80 for a 2 and a half year old Switch game with 12 new levels. Yikes. I'm eager to play the game but not for that price. And there's no way to get the upgraded FPS/resolution boost for Switch 2 without the upgrade pack, which is lame. Nintendo has gotten very expensive. At this point in my Switch 2's lifespan I have yet to buy a game for it, other than Silksong. That is saying something.

Maybe the September Direct will blow me away! We shall see.

Honestly if not for me already having the NSO+, I wouldnt have bothered. The pokemon upgrade was a larger improvement and that was free.
This. The upgrade fees/ upgrade path for Switch 2 enhancements is completely arbitrary. Some games get near Switch 2 Edition enhancements and they call it a patch with no fanfare. Some cost money, some are basic DLC disguised as something designed to entice us to spend $80 for game that could be anywhere from 1-8 years old. It's both confusing and frustrating. Not a fan of 2025 era Nintendo.
