the framerate metrics you listed are incomplete.

the PS4 and Switch 2 versions both have framedrops in their story mode traversal, and are both locked to 30fps during story mode fights
 
Docked mode looks great, but that portable mode has some nasty cutbacks. The complete lack of AO makes for a rather flat image.
 
Looks fine to me, in my 4K 43" TV looks great even, zero upscaling issues, if I didn't know it was upscaled to 1080p I'd assume it's being upscaled to 1440p instead not kidding

So nice to see great use of DLSS here. That's going to be a great addition to Switch 2.

Hoping Nintendo gets around to it for their first party games, too.
 
You should update the chart showing handheld performance vs the PS4. It's not looking good for the Switch 2 in that front at all.
 
I've been playing this a lot on switch 2 almost finished world tour. There has been some updates very recently improving things like reflection quality. I wonder if DF caught that? I will watch later to find out.
also I hope they point out how much better hat hair rendering is even better than ps5. not as good as a decent pc though.

Upscaling 4x with DLSS has a high computational cost, so it could probably run at significantly higher resolutions without upscaling
 
I was really impressed with the Switch 2 demo, thought it looked awesome on the Switch 2. And I have it on PS5 Pro.

the end result is PS4 settings with better Antialiasing.

the only versions with sub 60fps world tour traversal and 30fps world tour fights are PS4, PS4 Pro and Switch 2.

the only versions with no dynamic stage clutter physics are the PS4, PS4 Pro and Switch 2 versions.

the only versions without SSR in stage backgrounds (which is imo a positive but still...) are PS4, PS4 Pro and Switch 2.

the PS4 version is the best comparison point for this version.

not better textures no. the Series S has worse textures than PS4 due to the Series S port being insanely bad (like... having lower res textures on a system with more memory is quite the achievement). so don't think because it has higher quality textures than Series S that it's not comparable to PS4

That's not a difference in texture quality. That is DLSS vs TAA, RE Engine TAA is really bad at preserving fine detail. The scene right before that (around 05:20), gives a really good showing on the texture differences. Note the differences in the black bodysuit the character is wearing, or the zipper quality. Naturally while DLSS is great with fine texture detail (as per your screenshot) it can sometimes get it wrong. In the scene I mentioned you will notice some DLSS artifacts on the characters grey leggings.

that's not higher texture quality. what you're seeing there is a mix of the absence of subsurface scattering and bad TAA.

subsurface scattering will make skin look smoother, while the missing subsurface scattering on Switch 2 makes every bump in the texture stand out more noticeably.

DLSS also helps preserving the details compared to PS4, which uses RE Engine's sub par TAA.

again... PS4 at ¼ res + DLSS. that's the Switch 2 verson.
does it look better than the PS4 version? yes. is it still almost identical in terms of settings? also yes.
