When I played Witcher 3, part of the reason I loved it was because it brought to life mental images i painted when playing Diablo 2 (among other games).. The deserts, the dank, dank jungle.. the gothic architecture... this game vibrates with atmosphere and glumpth... i love it. i want to go there.

Are you a master at prioritizing your inventory? Do you like spending an extra couple minutes examining your loot? Would you take a stamina potion just so you could run around the map a lot faster? If yes then yeah you would like it.

The monster designs are awesome in Diablo 2 and so are the environments. I feel like Diablo 2 had the best bosses and quests. Diablo 3 sure had a lot of excellent Quality of Life upgrades, but Diablo 2 feels like a much more satisfying game. I want Diablo IV to echo the darker aesthetics of Diablo 2.

Diablo 3 gives you a push by having better drops. Early D3 never gave me a Legendary item and by the time Seasons had come out my character had almost an entire set of Legendary items. I had sold a couple items on the Auction House and now I have gear that makes those items a joke. Diablo 2 shines because it’s a perfect balance of that. Frustrating at times because you don’t always get what you want in terms of loot, but it’s good at balancing it out.

One thing that stuck me replaying it is how dark it is. I mean that in a good way. Nightime actually feels like nighttime. So many games these days are so brightly lit now no matter the time of day it takes me out of the world.

i've no idea... i gotta be honest with you, i have played d3 on console and i enjoyed it a lot but keyboard and mouse is hugely superior... especially with d2, which was designed for it.. in my sole opinion.

Not if it's in the shared stash which is where I was keeping mine to share with other characters. That was annoying in the beta. I'm on PC now so no issue cause I can use the keyboard.

That's always been a thing, I thought. I also can't identify items when I have the mercenarie's inventory open on controller. Slightly annoying but not a big deal.

Man, if D3 had the darker aesthetic, no rainbow world, no globes to pick up after killing elites and champion packs, and the loot drops from release, it would have been amazing. I still love it cause the combat is so good but damn. In D3 vanilla, the good loot was much more rare since the RMAH existed. Seemed more like D2 in that regard. Then they got rid of the RMAH and made loot rain...

There is a run on and off button. Not just the hold to sprint button.

There is 3 versions of the minimap. So you can have a smaller version in the corner.

There is an auto sort feature.

You can use all your abilities much faster and easier on pad.

About to take on Mephisto. This game is keeping me off everything at the moment.

How'd it go? Old Vikhyat died on me but I survived. I had to dodge a lot cause his spells were killer. I can't get over how amazing act 3 looked. Especially the Durance of hate and the bridge of muscle, bone, and sinew that you have to cross to get to the portal. Just amazing.

Yep, and to be honest, I am able to move and target enemies much faster and easier with the controller. It just feels right. The only bad thing so far is not being able to teleport exactly where I want. I overshoot my target sometimes. No big deal though.

I haven't been able to find any information online about whether or not it's possible to unlink an account and relink one in the future (while still keeping saves). I'd rather not make a whole new account for just this one game and have to remember it just for this one game.

Never played a hardcore character in Diablo 2 previously. I'm finding it a much more satisfying and intense experience. Just got to Act IV and I'm trying to remember if I can just stomp through it on Normal or if I need to go back and farm for some gear and levels. Little concerned that Diablo will melt my Skeleton army and then I will be in A LOT of trouble! That's what happened to me in Act II with Duriel where he destroyed my skeletons in the first minute and I had to frantically kite him around while my archer mercenary plinked him with arrows.

thanks - sounds like I'm fucked. I've literally had the same Battle.net account since... well, since Diablo 2 originally released. In the last 20 years between Diablo games, WoW, Hearthstone, Starcraft, Destiny, Overwatch etc (as well as all the classic games like Warcraft 3) easily over $1,000 worth of purchases.

Yeah, D4 isnt looking quite as dark but still a hell of a lot better than D3.

stuck with 4 perfect topaz's and helm with 3 as well, the drops have been pretty crap so far lol, i did find an ik maul and boots for a friend but nothing great yet.

the cow king on nm seems to drop very well

I did a pits run at level 65, cleared it, strangely enough, they said that they had fixed the traps + rare spawns, well i only had 2 on level 1, and i did the whole level, i tried to do another but merc died like 20 times.

Realm down atm, but if the pits is not fixed for rare spawns and trappers i am going to be pretty mad. Hope its just a one off.

Is it still best to run normal Baal runs up to a certain lvl instead of focusing on nightmare? Also I have unlocked a lot of warcrys but not 100% certain which I should focus on, the 2 I seem to use the most and see other barbarians use are the ones that up other players level and also their health and mana.

Clear Act 1 NM so you can get the frost aura merc in Act 2.

I keep switching characters because I just can't let good loot go to waste. I'll level them all to where they can use said loot, then hop back on my main.
