Because there's 2 different Betas. One that is the entire game and another that has no NDA and is just up till about level 10.
 
This just proves that you guys don't read every reply in a thread, which makes a forum fucking useless.

Day9 can't stream, like other web sites can't, because then it would generate traffic for the site, which isn't fair. Only friends and family can stream because they get nothing out of it.

Correct. There is only one beta, but press and high traffic sites are being told not to stream for now because it would be an unfair advantage for them versus sites that don't have the beta yet. Soon the beta will be in full public swing and media will be everywhere, very soon.
 
I was pretty sure I read every post here. Can someone guide me to the post here that shows Day9's tweet that he can't stream because of the site traffic thingy? I've tried to search it in his twitter account but I only see the "I talked to blizzard on the phone" that has nothing said about site's traffic problem.
 
Ah, I was under the impression that he couldn't because he was in a different Beta. Well that takes care of that. Though to be honest what ever happened to having an exclusive? I don't see this as being all that different from when some magazine or website gets a world exclusive unveiling/review No one whines about those so this shouldn't be any different right?

Well, not really. In those cases they give them the exclusive. Here they don't want to give Day9 the exclusive.
Nobody would probably whine here either. It's just a thing Blizzard doesn't want to do and it's not like it's only Day9.

Yes, some of us do whine about that, esp. when the website that bought the exclusive is shit like IGN, Kotaku, or PoS mag like GI.

I can now proudly say I was welcomed into both the Diablo II & Diablo III betas, last time I didn't work, this time I have a full time job. Challenge accepted.
 
I have bought every Blizzard game on day 1 since Starcraft, and currently have all of their PC games attached to my battle.net profile, yet I have never received an invite for any of their beta's. I don't think D3 will be any different but I would love to be wrong.

Only way I got into the SC2 beta was by preordering.

Also, I own all those blizz games, but didn't day1 them. I waited on RoC and TFT, and heard about D2LOD from a friend, then promptly bought it.
 
I didn't own a single blizz game and got to the SC2 beta from day1. Also got like 2-3 extra invites down the road.

Suck it.

I feel like the gaming world is empty. Like the seeds in winter. Dormant. Waiting for spring.
My gaming life feels like an alcoholic's after the last bottle he can afford. I know that the payday is far, far away...T_T

A public (though closed) beta, 3 months prior to launch is a really good sign that we are looking at this year for launch in early December.

Game of forever.

Even thought this is a game of forever I'm still sad I will be a month behind of everyone

Yea I'm in dangerous waters here :P

No but I'm going away for a month in January so can't play at all. Kinda sad to start playing it for two weeks and have to stop there.
I mean it's like making someone take heroin and then they are asked to stop for a month.

Someone is bound to find the settings for ground clutter, life of corpses and blood splatter amount. :D
 
I've tried Barbarian and Witch Doctor so far. Both are REALLY fun to play, though I'm starting to prefer the Witch Doctor.

how is the wizard holding up? most interesting class for me so far, plus Wizard sounds cool.

as much as I'd love to be in the beta, I realize that I probably won't ever get in it, so I'll just have to wait until blizzcon to get my hands on it. when that happens though... >:D
 
I haven't exactly been following this thread but the beta isn't out for normal people yet, right?

Also who qualifies as Friends and Families?
