Well, luckily Kingdoms of Amalur releases in Feb to scratch that loot itch.

Time to buckle up. Post June release is what I'm guessing. Closer to blizzcon 2012 than anything.

Me too. Honestly, I don't care when D3 comes out, because I've waited this long for it and I've got plenty of other games to keep me busy. And I know for a fact that when it DOES come out I will be playing it for at least 10 years or more afterwards, just like D2 still sits on my hard drive and gets played now and then. So I'd much rather they take their time and ship a complete and polished and Blizzard quality game, WHENEVER that is, instead of rush it and give us a game that needs multiple patches or expansions to be "finished".
But with regards to Torchlight 2, this is great news. If T2 ships soon, I'll be buying it day one and it will hold me over til D3 arrives. If T2 ships after D3, well then I'll most likely miss T2. And I'd like to get to play T2. So, in a messed up kind of way, D3 being nowhere near ready is "good" news for me!
They'd be stupid not to.

Screens of the manual seems to have leaked - not sure if I'm allowed to post though but it really does look legit.

No, you and I were always been the skeptical people when it comes to D3 release-date. I'm positive that it's insanely close now. Wait for the announcement... It'll happen very soon.

Assuming they get green lit, what's the turn around time to get the disks to shelves? I'm assuming all the manuals , art, and marketing is all set in stone. So it should go fast. Or will we have to wait for some fiscal quarter closure?
Blizzcon... next fall.
Funny as I was on the other side of the fence. Felt like it was going to release in Dec, but now I'm skeptical of a first quarter release.
I can't imagine they have much of the manual done with them not having the runes, etc locked down yet. Unless its just the "fluff" parts.
Also, who makes manuals these days?! I always get a single piece of paper for a manual that tells me how to insert the disk into my machine, and that the flashing lights could give me seizures.

Then again I rarely buy physical games, but each that the above happens I die a little inside. Luckily I can always to back to a good old Falcon 4.0 manual and remember the good ol days.
I don't have a source on hand, but I think in PC Gamer one of the Diablo reps said they'll announce a release date when their ready to, not wait for a major event. I'm looking for the source now.
EDIT: I can't find a source. I'm pretty sure it was in one of the last two issues of PC Gamer, but my copies are at work.
Well, I expect nothing else frankly. What kind of relevant events are there for a game like D3? CES? E3? Blizzcon? One is like in two days and the other ones are ages away. Ages.
I remember that too but I don't have a source either. Definitely remember the part about that they would announce the release date as soon as they know it and won't wait for an event.

I can answer that last one: it doesn't have to be, but it's better if you do.

I no longer think this was 'Thee' issue holding this product up from release. Looking at some Blizz responses at people rants on their board, they still seem to be tweaking things, working things out. Next week some message or update is to be posted on the website, that outlines what Jay Wilson is working on. This message or update isn't to include a release date, just what they have been working on. Reading further into the posts the community managers go to great lengths to point out, that their tweets or messages don't include any cryptic messages that we the consumers need to decrypt. That when it's simply ready they'll release it. This just means to me, that we still have a while till we get our paws on this game.

I'd be happy with a June release. My excitement died down dramatically once I knew it wouldn't release during the winter break. In reality, all I want at this point is a set in stone release date lol.
I've had the beta for a while and I think I've just lost interest in Blizzard games or something. I played Diablo 2 like crazy but this game really isn't holding my interest at all and I'm still kind of disappointed that they lowered the player limit. I also don't really like the look of the game nor the addition of the health orbs.
I'd probably give away my beta account here if it weren't attached to my other games =/
