Browsing through the MPQ files I see that the RecipesBlacksmith.gam file has a recipe buried deep within it for a "Smith_StaffofCow"
Can't wait to see the new Cow Level.
I'm still holding out for a secret pony level.
I just found out that the female Wizard is voiced by Grey DeLisle, who did Azula in Avatar TLA.
Maining wizard 100% confirmed
I can't believe I'm not in the beta yet. Every email I get from Blizzard is pure joy followed by tears.

Is it just me or do other people not seem to enjoy just killing swathes of monsters any more? Some GAF people friended me but all they seem to want to do is rush the Skeleton King, is that what the cool kids are doing these days?
On the other hand I did just get my first gold item. It's shiny.

Mmmmmmmmmmm...
So I played this when it came out, is all that has changed is just bug/balance stuff?

That's what Diablo was always about. Rush the boss, get loot, repeat. I know Blizzard is trying to change it with D3, we will see if they succeed.

Guessed as much. Seems like they are cutting some unnecessary fat and focusing on getting the game out. Good, good.

It won't change. It just doesn't make sense. Boss's are going to have the largest loot tables with the highest chance of rarer loot.
The only way that this will change is if all loot had an equal chance to drop across all creatures. This would have an adverse and opposite effect however. People wouldn't even bother with bosses. The easiest available mobs would be farmed over and over again for the quickest possibility of loot.

"Bashiok: Bosses will probably still have a better chance to drop nicer items than a regular enemy, but champions and rares are set to have an even better chance.
The goal, of course, is that with Inferno as a flat difficulty (all enemies are the same level) you should be able to go anywhere you like to get items, meaning not just rushing to bosses. To encourage that further, the randomized champions and rares that appear out in the world will have the best chance to drop good items, encouraging exploration and also feeding some of that *gasp!* feeling you get when you see one, and then another *gasp!* when items drop. Bosses tend to only have that second moment, and its generally devalued over time due to the repetition.
I think some could argue that they want to have very systematic ways to grind out item drops, and I think we would argue that the vast majority of people do not."
I'm waaay more concerned about the shared stash nerf. A 40% reduction in possible items to store is worrying.
It also makes me wonder how many expansions Diablo 3 will have. It sounds like they plan on supporting the game very significantly, and I highly doubt that they'll keep working on the game extensively just to continue selling the same product.
They nerfed the stash? When was this?
Whatever gets it out sooner...in February.

Hmm, I still think it would be a good idea to have the end boss' drop rate increase depending on how much of the content in that particular instance you've completed. That way the incentive would be to clear out as much as possible in good time, and then kill the boss.
I love this. Loooove it. Can't tell you how much more fun it would be to just farm wherever you want and get excited by the world bosses instead of power-grinding Durance of Hate x 1000.
Blizzard said:We're in the process of preparing the Diablo III test server for maintenance to deploy the next beta patch. Maintenance should begin around 1:30 p.m. PST and we anticipate that downtime will last approximately 3 hours, until 4:30 p.m. PST.
This is a relatively small patch containing only a few minor crash fixes. As always, though, patch notes will be posted to the launcher and this forum once the patch is live.
That seems like a good idea... but it's not like players aren't going to not kill the chapter bosses in favour of random world bosses.
I think they straight up said that rare mobs and champions would drop the best loot. There are two tiers of inferno loot, and the best loot drops off randomly generated mobs
