Diablo III |OT2| Queues Rise. Servers Fall.

They really should have rolled this damn thing out as a soft launch over the course of the past week. SWTOR did one thing right, and that was their launch procedure. Let waves of people in based on their preorder date or something to quell this kind of bullshit.

No offense to anyone in particular, but you'd have to be a complete fool to think that launch day for DIABLO 3 was going to go off without a hitch.

That said, I wonder why they can't plan for this sort of stuff when we all know it's coming?

I get what you're saying, but this isn't a large scale MMO. To be honest, we should expect that everything is up and running the first day. That's what we're paying for. If we stop doing that, then it will be OK to launch whatever clusterfuck they feel like.

It's not a huge deal, it's just a game, it just irks me that big corporations can get away with this without any sort of consequence. If this were any other business they'd burn.

Glad I took tomorrow off instead of today. My CE still hasn't been delivered according to Amazon, although it's been out for delivery since 4:00 a.m.

So while the servers are down, can anyone add me to the Battletag list?

Wow, I went to bed early last night and figured I'd be 'smart' and start after work today when all the teething problems at over with.

Error 75.

I really hope Blizzard learn something from this, and don't expect their reputation to somehow excuse it until things settle down. They could at least disable the guest pass accounts temporarily or implement some kind of queue system ala Warcraft.

Bah, had the day off work and haven't been able to get in at all.

I mean, I expect the servers to be rock solid in the coming weeks and blah blah blah....but seriously, if you anticipate launch problems don't make a big fucking deal out of a midnight launch.

I think I just lost like almost all of my achievements? From 700 ish points to 200 now. Thanks Blizzard!

More mad about getting kicked out and not be able to log in again.

11:30 a.m. PDT- We are in the process of performing an emergency maintenance for Diablo III servers in the Americas to resolve several issues that are currently impacting the game. This maintenance may cause some interruption in communication, ability to log in, use of in-game features, and disconnections. We anticipate all servers will be available for play at approximately 1:30 p.m. PDT. We will provide further updates as necessary. Thank you for your patience.

Fuck you blizzard. Went from being down for an hour, to three (at least). Let's just call tomorrow the launch day.

Diablo 3 release date: 5/16

Ha.

A couple of minutes after my last post my friend gets kicked out and is unable to get back in lol.

Oh well, at least my templar is going to get some work done now.

Is the Monk ok?

I want to make one, for old time's sake. First time I played Diablo was with the Monk on the first's expansion. :)

Welcome to the club. Lost most of the achievements I earned last night when I logged in this afternoon... I wouldn't be surprised if I lost the ones I earned this afternoon as well, considering the server downtime.

Not a big deal since I don't care about achievements, but I did want to customize my banner more with the unlocked stuff. :(

They start off a little fragile but having the speed and healing makes up for it...later on you turn into a combo death machine.

lol and i remember protecting blizzard, saying there's no chance they're gonna fuck up this launch (I used the WotlK/Cata/SC2-argument). Oh boy was I wrong.

Garbage.

I see Activision is starting the "hey calm down, this happens to MMOs all the time" placating on twitter, and it's - putting aside that this is also locking out the single player game - a good point.

MMOs have been around for over a decade, why is this kind of clusterfuck at launch still acceptable? I swear, if they try to trot out the 'unforeseen demand' line of crap...

Anyone up for a run through some of act 1 with secondary characters? I've only goten up to act 2 with my primary but i'd love to start up some mp for a change of pace (doing sp for my first time through the game).

Give me a PM if you're interested.

PROBLEM NOT YET FIXED

When I boot up the game I get the following message : Input not supported (floating message). Usually this is about the resolution of the screen. But in this case it doesn't matter because it gives me this message with every possible resolution.

Every single game works on my monitor (Bulletstorm/Rage/Mass Effect 3/Risen etc.), but this one doesn't.

To prove it's a problem with D3 and my monitor : It works on the Samsung TV that is also connected to my computer.

What. the. hell. is going on.

FYI, you should really put this in a PC or tech support thread so it doesn't get lost in the flood.

That said, Monitor make and model? What is it hooked up with? (HDMI? DisplayPort? VGA?) Have you tried using a different kind of input cable? Messing with the OSD settings on the monitor? Different version of display driver? (Older Radeons with newer Catalyst drivers are known to have issues with D3).

Boo, server down for maintenance in NA until 1:30 pm. I hate that you have to be on-line to play this game with Blizzard shit server. You would think after many years of World of Warcraft they would be able to deal with stuff like this better.

This is such a mood killer.
