US servers should be back up in about 45 min. Initial influx of players will take a bit of time to get in, but it should even out quickly

Oh god... it will be error37 all over again when servers come up

Only got to the end of the beta last night, going to be restarting with some buddies once the servers are back up. Game feels a lot smoother than the beta did, I suppose that's the finishing polish.

So what is the deal with colored enemies?

Blue = a bit stronger? but doesnt really drop any loot better
yellow = rarer? has ability to drop better loot
Purple = boss? drops loot

So, uh, are achievs bugged for anyone else? I've played most classes through to SK and played Monk through to SK with a group of 4 and at no point have I gotten an achievement.

I'm not terribly fussed, it just seems weird because there's a couple of people on my friends list getting them regularly.

I agree, but why are you using sacrifice if you don't use zombie dogs?

Circle of Life gets the job done. It isn't exactly a min/max approach, but seeing one pop and immediately blowing it up is as close as I will get to true Corpse Explosion. And it's pretty damn satisfying, too.

I dont see mine either...

My wife has great timing. She interrupts my "DIABLO" day to ask me for help to watch my daughter for an hour. Just as I log off the servers go down! (now I look good for the wife, and wouldnt be able to play anyway!)

ACT I spoilers

Totally called Cain dying, and Tyreal being the meteor was a bit of a shock. Only died twice so far, once on the butcher, and once at the beginning of ACT II.

Cant wait for the servers to come back up!

ooooooh fucking a man, I swore your spoiler wasn't going to bother me since it was just Act 1 and that couldn't be "that long surely".

Fucking two huge points spoiled.

Yeah, I definitely agree. Time warp just sort of made it overly simple. :lol

I'll be honest, I haven't really played around with Time Warp. I see its potential but I just don't like how it's used. I rather just keep Diamond Skin when you have mobs of what, 15+ all over you? Helps out in the end.

Wizard is the new OP because I can just Diamond Skin when I get low on health, Teleport back to base, go to the healer and repeat until everything is dead.

Yup, been randomly resetting from what it looks like. I lost everything before the SK.

Is there a consensus that all classes will be able to own face at endgame to a reasonable degree?

It was annoying to roll a druid in D2 and find out you were underpowered compared to most reasonable class builds only once you got into the 70s and 80s. Or you rolled a zealot and find out you need specialized equip to have half the effectiveness and power of run of the mill blizorb sorc. Or you rolled a barb in classic and got to the Chaos Sanctuary and died over and over to iron maiden while sorcs were just static field / frozen orbing their way through with impervious grace.

I'm curious because I have no real desire for any class individually and it will just be a crapshoot who I start with--but I don't want to end up fucked.

almost exactly how I play my lvl 17 wizard, but I've switched magic missile for Electrocute (more dps in most situations, even without rune) and I'm looking to replace Diamond Skill with something else (don't like/can't use the skill properly). I'm pretty much relying on Arcane Orb for damage and Frost Nova/Wave of Force for survival right now. The other skills didn't seem all that useful for me so far, without the runes.

I like Electrocute a lot, especially after you get the first rune for it (6 targets). But I always feel like I'm hurting for single target damage without either Magic Missile or Ray of Frost. You can change for bosses, and my go-to for them was Ray of Frost with Electrocute or Spectral Blade for their little friends, but if I run into an Elite big thing, like a Grotesque, I don't want to just be tossing Orbs at it every so often.

I was messing around with RoF and Electrocute for a while. It worked but wasn't quite as fast, even with the 6 target rune. You're just not nearly as mobile, although you kick the crap out of any single enemy.

Hydra was something of a lifesaver; it's a huge amount of damage over the course of a fight if you lay it down and then go about doing your thing. Especially with the AoE rune.

Just got D3 installed and while waiting for the server maintenance to finish, decided to check out Starcraft 2. Nope, that game is having issues too :(

I think imbalance is going to be unavoidable but due to the variety of options available and the ease of respeccing I don't think it'll be as big a problem as D2.

Yes, they will. It's way, way more balanced.

Is there a way to unlock the full ability tool tips in the game? For example:

Shock Pulse
Primary
This is a Signature spell. Signature spells are free to cast.
Release a medium range pulse of 3 unpredictable charges of electricity that deal 105% weapon damage as Lightning.

In game I only see:

Shock Pulse
Primary
Release a pulse of unpredictable charges of electricity

or something like that.

I actually had no idea at first that the spells were based on weapon damage and no idea which are more powerful

So pumped for my CE to arrive. Now it's on a plane from Guangzhou, CN. Should be in Tokyo this afternoon!

In the mean time I'm going to make as many level 10 characters as I can with my Guest Pass!

For any europeans playing:

I don't know if it's been mentioned before, but I'm in Europe and the client defaulted to Americas server without me realizing it. After playing all night, switched to Europe, and had to start all over from the beginning with a new char :(

It might be because I had the beta installed before.

Haha, wow, I'd never thought about trying to TP while Diamond Skin is up. Though you can usually just kill everything before it drops anyway.

sangreal - there's an option called "advanced tooltips" or something that you want to turn on.

I don't like sitting in the middle of it at all. I have been using it for when I have a lot of enemies coming at me and I drop it and stand behind it and if any get past I use the knockback(can't remember the name of the spell atm). But not too many make it through, using Arcane Torrent with the second rune that amplifies the next arcane spell and then using arcane missile with the split rune and every thing is going down pretty fast.

Going back to town is boring, therefor I refuse your OP tactics.

Edit: Why not Time Warp and Diamond Skin? Never die.

I just got home with the game. I'm trying to activate the game on my Battle.net account. Every time I try to enter my authenticator code, it tells me the code isn't valid. WTF. Are the authentication servers fucked right now?

How long does the TP channeling take? That cheap tactic should work wonders when I venture into Hardcore mode... also Monk has "Sanctuary" which is basically a 3 second (4 second with Rune IIRC) invincibility mode.

Antialiasing Compatibility Flag: 0x004412C1

And the AA settings is SSGA? (2x multisampling + 2x sparse grid upersampling?)

I asked the same thing, it's in the OP in bold'd red writing. But yes it's in the options.

What exactly does enhanced tooltips add?

Tells you exactly what the skill does.

Example of non-enhanced tool tip for cleave:
Swing your sword in an arc.

Enhanced tool tip:
Swing in an arc 3 yards in front of your character for 130% weapon damage to every enemy it hits.
