Thats a lie and you know it, or either you werent there, or you remember it wrong. WoW's launch was the most ridiculously colossally hilariously frustratingly "why have I been stuck in the loot position for the last 30 laggy minute" disaster a game launch has ever seen. This doesn't even scratch the whiskers on the buttcheek of WoW's launch.

Yeah the WoW vanilla launch was a nightmare that lasted at least a week.

This game is at least very playable while the servers are online.

Two questions about Monk:

Do any of you equip swords/daggers/etc and not just h2h and 2 hand staffs? I've been rocking w/e weapons are giving me better stats, but I wasn't sure if it's worse to stray away from h2h and 2 hand staff for monks.

Second question, is the hundred fists ability monk obtains better to be spam clicked or just held down? Seems like the only left click I've seen where just holding down left click is better, or am I doin it wrong?

Weapon type doesn't seem to matter. Can't say anything on WotHF as I haven't gotten it yet :(

I kind of agree, I can't imagine taking it off my bar. I can work half a dozen ways to swap around all the other skills but I feel like I always need Soul Harvest right there ready to go.

I feel the same way about Cleave on the Barbarian. Cleave+Rupture is just bullshit powerful against multiple targets. I feel like the Monk has other viable options for his spirit builder main AoE attack. I feel like I need both cleave and frenzy on my bar for multi and single targets respectively.

This thread is ridiculous, it's moves too quick with people moaning like babies about the servers. I wish we had one thread for people to cry in and one thread for people who just want to talk about their experiences, trade strategies and builds...

I'd be surprised if anyone even was able to read this post though before it was on the last page :-/

I'll talk DH stuff... level 24, and I am keeping with Rapid Fire (plus fire rune) nothing else seems to click.. am I missing out on gernades and chakrams?

You're right.

But that was an MMO.

What Blizzard has done here is bring that experience to a whole segment of gaming that was supposed to be outside of all that.

Some people couldn't even log in at all the whole day and night. I remember blizz frantically trying to upgrade their hardware. I honestly can't remember too much about that night, I think I was able to get in okay with a shit ton of in-game lag.

I don't remember BC being that bad other than a million butthumping the Outlands portal hours before midnight.

Two out of the four people in my group got kicked with same error. How does this work in hardcore? Cause we're all just racing to 10 so we can stard a hardcore game.

myself said:
Well, I finally died.

End of Act II spoilers:
When the Belial boss fight began, something went wrong, and my party of three became a party of me. The game didn't quite acknowledge that, so I was running around by myself fighting the act boss. I did the first part with few problems, but when we transitioned to the second scene, I came out of the cinematic nearly dead so I healed up. I saw one of the green spots on the floor and used my DH roll to get out of the way, but because of the latency my attempt to live wasn't acknowledged and I was shut down pretty quickly.

I'm pretty pissed that the server issues caused my character to die, so I won't be playing hardcore again until these problems are fixed. Very, very stupid.
Avoid hardcore. It is not worth the frustration. Odds are that you will be killed by something completely out of your control.

I love loot-based ARPGs. But the few hours of Diablo III that I've played haven't been that much better than the hours I've played other ARPGS (Diablo II included) to make this nonsense worth my time. Had this been any other game by any other company, they'd have been burned to the ground.

Would any other game have even near the volume of people wanting to play? No. The situation is unique.

When you're a wizard and you don't use a staff, does that make your spells weaker? I'm trying to find out why I'm so weak >__>

Perceptions of WoW's launch largely depend on which server you happened to choose to roll your toons on. If you didn't understand that then you weren't there or weren't paying attention.

Before the servers go back up:

Give me some Wizard tips! I've been using that purple arrow spell and the tornado thing but my guy is still very weak. I should have chosen Witch Doctor >__>

Wizard does a lot of crowd control. Frost Nova / Wave of Force (fun combo) is your friend. Diamond Skin to protect yo' self. Arcane Orb is probably your strongest attack for a while.

Hmm that's disappointing

what's odd about this is that the voice acting for the NPCs is much better and not wooden so why the fem baba and DH have this emotionless VA? have you tried the fem wizard, any better?

Its the same for every playable character. The male Monk doesn't sound any good either.

I have enough patience to give them launch day issues.. if this shit is still happening tomorrow there will be HELL to pay.

I was able to play for a solid 4+ hours tonight.

Pretty sure every class has its core combo. After getting exploding palm I don't think I will will ever take it off my action bar.

Blizzard references Borderlands 1 in their game with The Clipper. Very cool :)

What should I do if I really am bored of bola shot, boom explode, already played this out in torchlight....

Seems to be the best builder though. Kinda confused atm.... Kinda wan't to switch classes.

Shoot shoot shoot, eventually gets boring unfortunately, I like DH but I can't really get into a skill groove.

I like impale but it feels useless at around lvl 20.

I'd actually completely forgotten about the character perpetually trying to pick up invisible loot any time you stopped walking.

Arksy is coming to Blizzard's defence! :O (Don't worry it won't happen again, I promise!)

In all honestly, could this have gone any other way with the Servers? Is there even enough processing power in the world to deal with this kind of traffic? We're probably talking millions of players all logging in at once and not being cordoned off into individual servers like traditional MMO games.

Doesn't Call of Duty handle the same kind of traffic? What's the real difference - it's data in and data out. Friends list. Chat. That's about it.

Diablo 3 isn't doing some arcane new thing that nobody has ever attempted before.

Rapid Fire is super high sustained DPS that can be concentrated on a single target or over a group. It's really good. The downside is that you're stuck standing still while firing.

lol no, not even remotely close.

Would you care to explain why ? I am genuinely curious, not here to troll but I bought this game like many other here and just like many others I have been unable to play it. I don't think a launch where I can't play the game I paid for can be called a success ? Was only able to log in twice today ( didn't try the whole day though only around 4/5 hours), first time I logged off my on own accord after playing for only half and hour ( around 5 am eastern), second time like 1 hour ago and then I kept waiting for my two friends to join me. They kept trying and failing. I gave up on them and started soloing and that's when I was hit with the error reported earlier about that party stuff. So I am curious as for why you would assume this launch to have been a success ? Unless you were being sarcastic and in which case I apologize for the misunderstanding.
