Right, I don't get how the loot system works online with a party. Is it essentially like playing by yourself? Does everybody get loot? or only one person in the party gets it? Do you have to be the one to do most damage or kill the boss/whoever does more damage gets the loot? I wanna play with other people but I don't want to loose my loot. I tried opening my game once or twice but people just run off to do their own thing (i.e the selected quests) instead of exploring and I'm always worried they are gonna kill a unique mini boss type character and get the loot and by the time I get there it'll be gone. Can anyone please answer? Thanks!
 
can someone do me a favor if they have a quad core.

open up your resource monitor and check your cpu usage on the cores. some reason the game is mostly just using one core and its near 100% while the others are low.


Id really appreciate it.

Loot is instanced per person.
 
Is D3 latency just poor in general? My local speedtest.net returns 8ms but I'm consistently around 250ms in-game. It makes it tough to dodge stuff!
 
So, played yesterday and did the whole beta part of the game.

LOVING THE BARB!!!!

Leap + Ground Stomp = Awesomeness in a Bottle!!! (that doesnt really make sense lol)

Every move the barbarian makes just feel powerful.

Using a 2handed sword just make me feel like a tank just destroying everything in my path.

Also, Im still in Act I, so I imagine things will only get better from here.

This game delivers! :)

The loot generated is for your character only. Every player has their own loot.

Confirmed. I have an i7 2600k quad core (with hyperthreading). One core is much higher than the others but nothing is maxed out.

Ah, even if you aren't there when special enemies are killed by people in your party? Would you still get the loot when you get to that point? I just love exploring and I like to explore the entire map before I go do the quests, most people don't, and I don't want to miss out on good stuff because of that.

I wouldn't mind teaming up with some folks to do the post-beta content. My RL friends have all been decently busy lately. They're missing out ;) Will be on tonight and most nights, although RL friend play is priority, when they're around.

Not suprised. It isnt really doing much under the hood and this is blizzard
 
I'm liking the game, but hating the DRM with a passion. It doesn't help that I play in short sessions.

Some of the things I hate:
  • Lag
  • Having to enter a password every time I play.
  • Losing the mapped area every gaming session.
  • Not being able to pause the game for a long time without a disconnect.(and thus the points above)
  • Slow startup times of the game.

I'm really hoping somebody makes a mod that allows you to download the characters and play in offline mode. I'm perfectly willing to give up online mode all together to get rid of the DRM. It feels like a huge leap backwards from D2.

I'm also not that fond of having a shared stash/gold between characters. I'd like to see a different character as a fresh play through, but now you're massively helped along by the other character.
 
Ok PLEASE help me guys.

I am doing the black soulstone quest. There is 2 areas you need to go into. 1 is the unknown depths. The other is something storm something.

The storm area is fine.

Every time I go into the unknown depths I crash. I can get into it and play fine, but I get to a specific point and immediately crash to login (get error first in game, click ok, then login screen).

It's almost like there is a missing file. I am doing a total reinstall, redownloading game from scratch. Any ideas what may be going on though? This is maddening, happened 7 times in a row, same spot. Dungeons are randomized, but this area only has 4 directions to go, all dead ends except 1. So when I get to the area that is not a dead end, that is where I crash. So I know its the same spot.

Again any ideas?

Yes. The only way a item drops for all players is if they pick it up and drop it back on the ground (I think).

Because it is randomly generated each time you play.
 
Just finished up the second act. It was surprisingly easy thanks to my build, even the
end act boss
. I've pretty much set myself up around being a dual wielding Barbarian focused around life steal. Using a build like this at the moment. You pretty much just leap into combat, control with your stun, throw out rends, and tear through enemies one by one in a chain. Once you start going you just keep left clicking and everything dies and you stay at full health. It's kind of funny.
 
Just searched google for Diablo 3 The Unknown depths.

Found 3 topics created for the same issue I am having already, not one blue response. Great. One of them is 20 hours ago.

So I basically just uninstalled for no reason most likely. A lot of people are having this issue and cannot get any further in the game now. Wow =/
 
So I am a little confused. I have elective mode on, but it won't allow me to set skills in slots 3 and 4. I'm only level 10 so they haven't unlocked. I had assumed it was just because no spells of those classes had unlocked, not that you had to unlock the slots themselves. Basically, you are limited to two mouse buttons, and however many skill slots you have unlocked for your level? I would have though I could map however many unlocked spells I wanted into those slots no matter my level.
 
Got my copy today. I'm gonna see if I can find someone to run it with. Playing alone is boring. :x

Just hit level 13 on my Monk. The game really picks up once you get past the
Skeleton King
. Still feeling a tad to easy atm, and I'm not feeling the atmosphere as much as 1 & 2, but it's fun as hell and addictive either way.

So I was playing Diablo 3 windowed mode since launch, decided to restart my computer today and BAM........lost all 3 of my characters. My Witch Doctor was my lvl 41 main

I haven't had an issue yet with this game, sometimes I get stutters in the video, but its not all the time, other than that its great. Sorry to hear you can't play anymore. :/
 
ONE champion just killed our group over 15 times. No joke.
