More questions to kill the time!

When comparing gear (as a wizard), and the raw dps output they're providing, is the large-ass DPS number including Intel and +dmg bonuses? Like, can we just use that big number to assess how much damage we're getting from the thing?

yep, bonuses are also calculated - to increase your damage, you want +dmg items and high int (for example, I've got over 400 int at lvl 31). Also, use weapons with high dps.

How long are the servers gonna be down for? I get new phat weapon @56 (5 bars away)

What does archon do?

Whats everyone using for their Witch Doctor?
I am level 32, just beat Normal Mode, here's my current build:

http://us.battle.net/d3/en/calculator/witch-doctor#hcRidT!beV!ZaZZaZ

Firebomb (Roll the Bones)
Firebats (Dire Bats)
Hex (Jinx)
Acid Cloud (Lob Blob Bomb)
Soul Harvest (Swallow Your Soul)
Gargantuan (Restless Giant)

Spiritual Attunement / Fetish Sycophants / Spirit Vessel

It's very very powerful AoE damage and I really started enjoying Hex for the last act or so, makes clearing champions and rares really quick a cinch. For super tough 1v1 boss battles I switch around my skills a bit to this build.

The bug, from what I understand, is if you give the Templar a shield before he officially joins you (so, in the few minutes after you find him in Act I up until you get the prompt as to whether you'd like him to join you). A blue did post that this bug has been corrected though. I had no problems giving my Templar a shield on my DH after he actually joined me.

Nice thanks!

Did you buy any rings of wounding from the fence in tristram? That helped my dps a lot in Act 1.

They are overpowered IMO. the +3 damage amulets rings and gems cause way to massive a dps increase, its tough to even replace them with other items without that modifier on them.

They ought to do something. This is a terrible launch from them and they ought to get hammered for it.

It seems far more likely that they'll get things in a decently working state sometime before the end of next week and just pretend like this mess never happened. Their current explanatory forum post doesn't even apologize for taking the servers down at prime time on the day after launch. They seem pretty shameless, sadly.

Double chakrams are so good and so hatred efficient....

The last boss of act2 was very impressive ! I died 3 times against him. ^^;
I don't know if he is more easy with a melee character but I will raise my hp a lot if I fight him in HC. ^^

what, lasering everything in front of you with 300%+ weapon damage is considered insane now? :p
:lol indeed! There's nothing wrong with 20k ticks :p

How is XP handled? If my friend who is 5+ levels higher than me, does that screw up the XP share?

You can play with any number of people and any level, but XP is dimished against monsters of higher or lower level, as in Diablo II. If the monster is 5 levels higher or lower then your char level, you will only receive 10% of the XP it normally gives. At least that is what was hinted by Jay Wilson in an interview, I'm heavily paraphrasing.

My MBP has higher than what is recommended on Blizzards site - but it runs like absolute crap most of the time. Insanely choppy. I have turned nearly everything to low and adjusted the distance fps to 60 and after a little bit my laptop feels like it is going to catch on fire its so hot.

Might now be getting the full game after all if I cant get this to run semi-decently :/

man that 15 minutes of downtime after flawless play the entire day was just brutal torture

im considering filing a class action lawsuit

who's with me

How about this: 6pm PST--people with jobs coming home from work are frustrated that they can't play the game they spent $60~$100 on, when most of them are here for the single-player experience.

Then again, I imagine it would be hard to understand this point of view if you don't work and have the entire day to spend playing games on the computer. By all means, continue your defense of a major corporation that is majorly fucking up. I'm sure they need your help!

What build? My late 2008 MBP with the 9600gt in it runs it on high settings pretty decently.
