Diablo III |OT2| Queues Rise. Servers Fall.

Blizz needs to add a ingame auction house or at least a button for it. Exiting the game to buy or sell something is stupid. Especially when your last checkpoint is in the middle of fucking nowhere.

Haven't had much time to play the game unfortunately, but the ending of Act 1 was pretty great and Act 2 so far has been awesome. This weekend is going to be intense

I'm kinda preferring the +gold items so far. Since magic items sell for so cheap, and gold is used for so much, I feel more worried about my money than my supply of salvaged items from blues.

EDIT: Of course, that will probably change when I get to higher difficulties.

Magic find increases your chances of finding higher-quality items in general, not just blues, if that's what you meant.

scrolling through this thread, it seems D3 is as addictive as D2? I suppose many of you played D2? How are you finding, now that you've matured some ten years, to be handling the addiction?

Finally got a session going. Played for around 3-4 hours straight taking my sweet ass time in Act 1.

Enjoying the hell out of the game, it's like crack. My name is added in the OP for the Battle tag for those who want to play in the morning US time (that's when I am actually free).

Yeah I played the hell out of D2 and I see myself putting a lot of time in this too. At this current stage I don't think it's going to get nearly as much replayability as D2 but that's because of the design choices in D2 as well as the added expansion/patches which added more content (D3 will of course get more content too which will increase it's replayability). D3 is more streamlined especially for a newcomer, meaning you are less likely to make crucial build related mistakes and it also helps that the game so far is very immaculate in terms of design aesthetically and mechanically. I miss stat and skill allocation but there are a lot of cool new game play features that I am enjoying. Don't know how the AH system will play out but from the looks of things it's rather easy to get rare items compared to D2 because you can just search for your wanted item and you literally get hundreds of auctions ready to go anytime you want.

I personally haven't had any issue with latency or game drops that other people have had or achievement losses yet... but these issues should be resolved asap. Game is easily one of the best games this year so far and will remain a staple for gamers this years... once server issues are fixed.

Started playing yesterday evening as I still needed to pick up a video card for my new PC build. Picked up a Sapphire HD7850 OverClocked GPU and Diablo 3 runs as smooth as butter.

I sent you a FR, at least I think it was you. :S

Welcome to the digital crack. When you're not playing, you're thinking of playing.

Just finished. Are you guys playing on nightmare or starting again with a different class?

A bit of both, Nightmare feels quite nice right after finishing the game for the first time but the parts that were slightly annoying in normal are even more so in Nightmare. Rolled a WD to cool off.

Colorblind, I suppose?

I know that feel...though no issues with this color in particular.

I don't know, they're both just dark and looks way to similar to the gray when I'm looking at it. I turned up my contrast a lot higher so hopefully that helps. :/

It's just the fact that the shitty purple/blue stuff you can see easily and then something like a legendary that you don't want to miss is hard to see. (At least for me)

Not a fan of the insta-switch when moving stuff around in inventory. Much more of a hassle IMO than when it put the item in your cursor hand.

Yes I accepted it immediately and I recognized it was you. :D

Like I said I play in the mornings but if I get time in the evenings I will log on then too.

Surprised there aren't more people playing Barbarian. Only hit level 20, but I feel like such a boss jumping into a group of 20 mobs, and just nuking them.

This game really is amazing. Even though the launch was terrible, the art style has really grown on me and I love every minute I'm in this world.

You guys having any success selling blues in the AH or do you just vendor 'em?

Salvaging them for essences seems sort of pointless.

Hell is kicking my ass. Nightmare Act 4 was doable, though the boss fight took forever and I used up all my potions, but 3-affix Elites in Hell Act 1 have killed me more times than I died in all of Nightmare. I think part of my problem is DPS; I finally gave in and bought something off of the auction house for a 50% boost - I'd still been using level 40 weapons at level 50 - but everything kills me in a flash. Seems like every other pack I run into is Mortar, with a bunch of Fast and Extra Health and Shielding thrown in. I ran into a pack of Mortar/Invulnerable sitting on top of a quest objective and just quit and restarted the game.

Is there any negative to bringing one of the followers with you?

Also should I AH my yellows even when they seem shitty? Game almost freaked out when I was going to salvage one.

Comes in handy when trying to equip new characters. My main has been levelling the Smith and getting materials together, which is handy to my new characters later on.

Why? If you craft you'll end up salvaging a lot to feed the amount needed for higher level items.

Oh, they don't use different mats? I've been salvaging up to the point I'm at now. Subtle essences sell for dirt-cheap on the AH though so I'm wondering if it isn't better to just vendor blues.

Currently ranked 16 out of a class of 815 in Manvel High. I think my rank will go down because of this damn game.
However, as much as Im disliking the constant server firesale , I'm kinda glad it's happening.

Helps me get self control for stopping playing and study.

Feels like items get lost in the AH since there's thousands of items there. I've sold one auction so far successfully and since then I've even been undercutting others quite wildly to appeal.

I tend to Salvage a load of lower level stuff, then randomly sell all of my blue stuff. Sometimes money is low, so it makes sense to sell them off.

Maybe I have really bad luck on the auction house, but I have a tough time finding items to up my wizard's DPS.

Until last night my wizard had pretty much crap items. But then I beat Act I normal and the final boss (which was a very hard fight for my undergeared wizard, I died many times) actually dropped two yellows that I could use, and they were actually good wizard items to boot. Then in the beginning of Act II I upgraded the smith enough to be able to craft a yellow helm, and then half an hour later I found yet another yellow (a belt) on a random corpse in the desert. I'm now sporting four rares at level 18 and my dps has skyrocketed. I'm literally laying waste to things that were kicking my can a little while ago.

Define "dirt cheap"? AFAIK it's 1 subtle essence per blue. A blue can sell for 100-250g? So might be worth it to sell then buy more essences.

So Screw Twin Chakhram.... Elemental Lightning Ball Arrow is way better. Can't wait to see it's life leech version.

My "Damage" (in stats panel) at lvl 29 is 430.

Stuck at the install since yesterday. This is everything I loathe about online-only games. Can't friggin' install it, and with the servers problems I'm actually shocked people are giving Blizzard a free pass just because it's Diablo III. Double standards FTL

Ctrl-alt-del -> end process Agent.exe while the installer is still up, it will update properly. You most likely already have all the data on, the installer just isnt showing it. Same thing happened to me when I installed mine along with a few family members.

What level are you and how high is your Damage? You're either way higher DPS than you need to be anyways or you're missing ways to increase your damage.

Are you using socketed items? Gems really, really push you up into the higher numbers. Socket your weapon with the best Ruby(s) you can obtain and then socket everything else with the best Topaz's you can obtain. Also make sure you compare items by equipping them, Some random blue amulet with +3-5 damage and Attack Speed +7% is probably going to be more of a boost to DPS than a rare amulet with +30 Intelligence, +15 Vitality, +5% Magic Find, and +4 Yard Gold Pickup Range for example.

Do they have any special characteristics? I'm already dual wielding fists. They're pretty good with 40ish attack on both in early Act 2

Spirit regen is what I've seen mostly.

They're all too slow for me though. I'm currently using a fist weapon and a dagger, going 2-hander just feels gimped to me now. I need that spirit faster.

Subtle essences sell for about 20 a pop on the AH.

I'm just curious if people have been able to effectively sell blues on the AH since rares there can be gotten for so cheap. I imagine most people ignore the blues, unless they're trying to gear up a new char I guess.

I like that smith upgrades transfer between characters. Makes it so you only have to worry about it once :p

I am lvl 29 and omg dude. IT GETS EVEN BETTER.

Dual wield frenzy axes, I just leap or charge into like 80 mobs, throw rend up or whirlwhind up. Frenzy/Revenge/ my way to glory. Sometimes earthquake if I am feeling like a dick : )
