duel wielding crossbows is kind of hilarious if you think about it...how do you reset the crossbow with both hands full?

I want better loooooot :(

Who on EU wants to start over with me, RIGHT THIS INSTANT? Anyone?

For the guy asking about how stats affect you and can't see it with Enhanced tooltips, here's the skinny:

Strength is 1:1 for Armor
Dexterity is 1:0.1% for Dodge Chance
Intelligence is 1:0.1% for Resistances
Vitality is 1:10 for Hit Points

You're welcome.

on my monk i get a damage bonus from dexterity...

Is there a way to stop the text above a dropped item from disappearing? It seems to timeout on me if I dont loot it fast enough. The items will still have a faint blue glow, and if I mouse over them the item name text reappears, but I hate that it disappears in the first place, causes me to miss items sometimes.

You can hotkey a "show loot" button. Press it when the names disappear.

In gameplay options, there's a drop-down in the lower left corner that lets you change Alt to toggle permanently instead of showing for 10 seconds.

You click the Alt Key. You can either hold it down or just tap it.

You can go to the options and change the behavior for the Alt key too, by default if you tap it it shows names for 10s after you let go. You sound like you want to switch it to Toggle.

I seem to be having the same issue. It's not even a low framerate, exactly; it's more of a stuttering that comes and goes. If I turn on the framerate display while this is occuring, it will rapidly fluctuate between ~30 and ~200. I can't find any graphics settings which help; with everything set to lowest settings, this happens just as often and just as severely as with everything set to highest settings.

(Running a 5770.)

I'm running a mediocre ATI laptop card of all things (mobile 5650). I'm still running the game with most things on high. I was able to get over the exact issue you're talking about by locking the framerate to 30 and enabling Vsync, if I locked it to any other number it would fluctuate all the time wildly. With this, my framerate doesn't suffer from random issues.

My framerate still flounders a bit if there are a ton of effects on screen, and it runs terribly in a 4 player game, but that's more of my weak-ass laptop than anything else. I just built a desktop with an Nvidia card today, gonna see how that runs later.

So are 1h crossbows > 2h crossbows? I've been using a 2handed one til now (Level 15 atm). Can someone tell me how much of a difference in dps there is?

Thanks for the tip, I'll try that out when I get home. I tried locking framerate to 60, unlocking the framerate, turning vsync on, turning vsync off, and all combinations thereof; none of it helped.

Time to look into an NVIDIA card; getting tired of ATI-specific issues.

Wow, nephelum valor buff huh? Completely forgot about that... killed 2 elite groups and now have 40% MF (from 0)

faster is better just because you have to be super mobile with a DH. their dps should be relatively close since 1h shoots faster but does less damage per hit, 2h shoots slower but does more damage per hit not to mention that 2h can still use a quiver. plus my incesent need for ABC "Always be clicking"

Level 25 Barb and my dexterity is in early 90's. How important is dex for this class?

you're doing it wrong.

There's been lots of NVIDIA users with issues as well, although generally speaking ATI users have been suffering more.

I was having a similar issue on my ATI 5870 where in exclusive fullscreen mode the game would fluctuate between 59-60 fps and when it was on 59 it would drop to 30 fps effectively (since vsync is on).

I switched to windowed fullscreen mode and it solved everything. Also my gamma was borked, but in windowed fullscreen mode it uses my desktop's gamma, so that fixed that issue too.

Just beat ActII. I literally stood in the same spot and mashed out my abilites, but it was obvious that on harder difficulties there were some very WoW like boss mechnics.

Prefer 2h myself, bigger skill hits.

Haven't used a single 1h crossbow til now but according to the stats they do seem a lot faster. My quiver gives a 10% attack boost but I don't think that's good enough to offset the differences.

The problem for me with switching right now is that my 2h xbow has +32 dexterity which raises my damage by a looot. I guess i'll look for a similar statted 1h xbow.

I'm mainly focusing on INT for my WD, is that correct? Do all my spells including pets benefit from INT or do I need to worry about other stats to?

I'm already using windowed fullscreen mode, so sadly that won't help.

Hey, Blizzard just announced that we get another free BattleTag name change:

http://us.battle.net/d3/en/forum/topic/5149007137#1

During the Diablo III Open Beta Weekend in April, a number of players opted to use their one free BattleTag nickname change in order to try to participate in the beta test. We recognize that in their excitement to try to get into the game, some players did not fully realize how BattleTags would integrate with Diablo III or that the number of free changes was limited, and they ended up choosing nicknames that they weren’t happy with.

To help address these concerns, we've done a one-time refresh of the free BattleTag name change feature on all Battle.net accounts, so that everyone once again has one free BattleTag name change to use at their discretion.

This means that if you already used your original free change, you will now have another opportunity to change your BattleTag nickname. If you did not use your free BattleTag name change or have not yet created a BattleTag, you will still only be able to change your BattleTag once for free.

To set or change your BattleTag nickname, log in to Battle.net Account Management, head to the Account > Summary page, and look for the Create or Change option under Account Details. As a reminder, BattleTags aren't unique, so you can pick any name you like as long as it adheres to the BattleTag Naming Policy. For more information, see the BattleTag FAQ and Battle.net website page.

Remember, your BattleTag serves as your public identity when playing Diablo III, meaning you'll be identified in groups and in chat by your BattleTag -- choose your BattleTag wisely!
