Blizzard making sure most builds can at least do TXIII?
I don't care if they can do GR90+ or not just let me farm TXIII with whatever.
EDIT:
Shadow Set 6 bonus increased from +10,000% Impale damage to +50,000%!
6PC Impale went from 40K to 50K, a 20% increase, rather than fivefold. The Karlei buff however, that's crazy. Just a quick bit of math to demonstrate the difference, if we assumed a baseline Impale before buffs did 1 point of damage:
2.6:
1 x 13 (1.200% 2PC) x 401 (40.000% 6PC) = 5.213
2.6.1 with just 80% Karlei buff:
1 x 13 (1.200% 2PC) x 1.8 (80% Karlei) x 401 (40.000% 6PC) = 9.383,4
2.6.1 with new 6PC and increased Karlei buff:
1 x 13 (1.200% 2PC) x 6 (500% Karlei) x 501 (50.000% 6PC) = 39.078
That's stronger by a factor of 7.5. Right now, taking my seasonal DH... well, there's some wild variation, I've had CoE crits go beyond 400 billion, but let's say it averages for 220 billion impale crits while on CoE. With this, I'd hit 1.65 trillion. This would let me 3 shot a 75 rift guardian (they got 4 trillion HP), or at the high end of the spectrum, it'd be nearly 3 trillion a hit. Whew, gets the blood going, that. It basically puts me into the same ballpark as Killrog's crazy Rathma Necro on season. Which is getting a good bit of love too - going from 2.500% to 4.000%, a 60% total increase in damage.
Amidst all this buffing hilarity, there's even downside. People might be unable to play Impale outside of GR80+. You need to proc Karlei to keep up with resource drain. But if you oneshot enemies, there's no proc. I already have this issue now on T13. With those buffs, there'd be fucking nothing which can take 2 hits - you'd be out of resource all the time.
I'm just ignoring all these PTR changes until we know what the final changes are going to be. They always keep trying out these crazy numbers during PTR and then nerf everything back to nothing for the final patch.
Usually I'd be compelled to agree - and they nerfed Shield Throw a bit again, though hardly to the point you'd say it's useless -, but Blizz posted an article a few days ago wherein they detailed the approach to this round of PTR buffs. To quote the interesting bit,
"We're locking down on changes now to smooth out bugs and performance issues, as well as other fine-tuning steps before patch launch. That process can take a while, so there's a point at which we must stop making new changes.
We've now reached that point on the PTR, so don't expect too many more sweeping changes for Patch 2.6.1 (barring anything game breaking we need to address post-patch or via a hotfix)."
If I was to take this at face value, I'd say the buffs are here to stay. Fingers crossed! I want that high roller gameplay, baby!
