Its currently the game I've been playing for the last week and a half. Its certainly not a perfect game, its not a terrible one either. Its got some good ideas, like the wall climbing thats easy to do,you can explore alot of hidden areas if thats your cup of tea. The controls are abit floaty though, like when you do some jumps over enemies when combating them, but its nothing bad,its actually fun getting that type of elevation in the game. When it comes to platforming you can do some really cool breath taking jumps-often times you'll say to yourself theres no way I can make that jump. But more often than not you can because of that floaty feel. It works pretty good overall, its just that when you use it to jump over enemies it takes abit of getting use to. For example if you do a running drop kick you'll find yourself missing your mark(jumping past him) because of the floaty feel. It takes some gettinguse to-jump ealier to accurately nail your foe.
The combat itself needed just abit more work though-in that the a.i. is weird at times. I've noticed that once you clear a group of enemies out, once there is one left,he'll run around like a zombie just running against walls at times. Its not anything major, just a glitch that they didn't clean up. But other than that its been a fun ride. Tere are good moves such as grapples where you can throw your enemiesover cliffs, doing back handed elbow manuevers when attacked from behind, palm strikes that stun your enemies, there are a decent aount of moves to mix things up. The controls are great which makes pulling off manuevers easy for the most part. I love the games soundtrack too-Epiic,the type that stays in your head once you've powered the game down, not too many different tracks overall, but the ones that are there are nice. Hopefully I can find the soundtrack somewhere otherwise I'll try to rip it with my generic mike.
I guess the visuals aren't for everyone but I think they fit the game well, its a style you don't see done to death, not like cell shading and anime art is nowdays, bleh.
I give the game 7 out of 10 points. Its refreshing to play, its Tomb Raider with fixed controls and with some fun combat thrown into it. You can swim and explore even further this time around though. Its easily worth 15 bucks new.
