Honestly I just want authentic representation. Baldur’s Gate 3 is probably the most recent best example of how to do it. You aren’t inundated with superficial elements like rainbow flags or the equivalent. No element of sexuality is hidden away, no demographic is singled out as bad with patronizing “do better” messaging, and LGBT characters are just as capable of being awful people like the rest. Relationships and character motivations are taken seriously. It’s refreshing.

But hey, in lieu of genuine effort, shove a few rainbow and glitter shaders/textures on some items every June and call it a day. No offense to the folks who did what they were asked to at work who made these, I just hate the insincerity.

Yeah, I can understand that. I do think Dragon Age Origins handled the romances better, where certain characters were canonically gay, straight, or whatever. If I’m not mistaken, you also had to be fairly proactive in trying to court someone. All the origin characters in BG3 play into the power fantasy of being player-sexual, though I understand why they did it. In Dragon Age Origins, I know a lot of gay dudes fawned over Alistair and were mad that he wasn’t an option for them.

I certainly prefer it when characters are designed around being canonically gay/straight/bi/etc. I don't like the idea that a character can be any sexuality dependent on the player.

There should be a toggle for “military mode” so you can just have the standard old military looking COD back.

No stupid magic weed guns, flashing glow in the dark shit characters, Fortnite wanna be crossovers etc.

The “carry forward” program has ruined the games for me. At least I used to get 2 months of play before they added shit snoop dog, drugged up guff and other nonsense. Now it’s all there day one, carried over from the last fucken game.

I'd like to remind everyone in this thread that the G in LGBT is for Gamer, so yes I got my pride skins, and I turned on all of my RGB LEDS.

Fits with the fan base. Call of Duty lobbies that throw that many homophobic slurs must be really insecure about their own sexuality.

My experience running into homophobes is that everyone else jumps in to make fun when you remind them that they are in the gay lobby and every player in the game is, in fact, gay.
