Bring it on! :D

Wow, the texture work is very sharp indeed.

Blood-a-go-go

Also making nice use of their partical system :)

My PC can handle HL2 great, but I wonder if I'll need to be upgrading again by the time this swings by..

After playing HL2 this looks even more like shit.

I don't want to play games with plastic GI-Joe puppets. Give me lifelike characters!

F.E.A.R. is going to be awesome. Can't wait to play it!

Eh, the models don't look that bad. I think they look prett good. Not HL2 quality but honestly what other game is? As long as they animate well the models are fine. Give Monolith 40 million dollars and a 5 year development time for F.E.A.R. and lets see what they could do. As it is this game will turn out just fine. They haven't released a bad first person shooter yet.

I think Half-life 2 is showing the world that the secret to making realistic looking humans is to go with a "less is better" approach.

The reason why the humans look so good in HL2 is because of strong texturing and good animation. The MGS games are another example of this even with the lower hardware of the PS2.

Just because you have the power to making people look super shiny and plastic, doesn't mean that doing it will make them look better. This plastic model trend really needs to die now that HL2 has been released and people are realizing that it sucks.

I could have sworn there was some damn FPS game coming to GC being developed by Monolith with Acronyms that looked like "F.E.A.R" at least thats what I remember from the e3 stuff.

but i guess I was wrong....

The problem with a lot of the current tech is that in screen shots, the lighting gets flatened out and everything looks 'plastic'.

Everquest 2 for example. When I see screens they all look like plastic dolls but the game running in real time the lighting etc is much more subtle and it looks a *lot* more natural.
