Digimon Story: Cyber Sleuth PS4 - Cross-Save, New Game+ and More Difficulty Options

Still wish it had physical for Vita. Probably going to import a PS4 copy from NA.

I'm happy there's more difficulty options, considering the only major negative I heard from people about this was that it was a bit easy. Not only am I happy it is coming over, I'm happy they're expanding on it with the localisation <3

Up until the late game it was boringly easy. Spamming the same attacks with your main Digimon could coast you through enemies that were supposed to be the Scissormon to your Papermon.

Then suddenly a late side quest Digimon wipes out your party and you realize WarGreymon has other attacks besides Gaia Force.

I totally missed the announcement of this getting localized. Is it also announced for EU, and what's the date? It looks completely amazing

That sounds TERRIBLE, as no matter how good the game may be if it's so easy then what's the point?

I'm so glad there are going to be difficult settings, I just hope they don't screw it up, I want it to be hard but fair.

Here's the original announcement thread.

Bamco says it is also coming to EU in 2016, but currently they are only planning a digital release for both PS4 and Vita there.

Where the game really shines gameplay-wise is the evolving mechanics and the tougher fights towards the end. Dare I say some battles were SMT-ish and required actual strategy.

Outside of gameplay, the story, characters, and level of... prettiness carry it pretty well.

Why? The PS4 thankfully isn't region locked.

So I can buy DLC without needing to buy US PSN cards, spending more money than just buying what I want from the EU store?

So I'm not hit with potential custom taxes when importing from overseas?

So I can go to a store and just pick up the game and not wait 2 weeks for it to arrive?

I'm super excited! Everything about the game looks amazing, I've been hearing the OST and that's also great!

AAAAND CROSS-SAVE?

Now I don't know if I want this for my Vita or PS4... Odds are that I will be playing strictly at home, but being able to play in my Bedroom would be nice too. And it's not that big of a title to buy both unless there is a discount or the other title is free.

If I can buy both games for $60 as part of some bundle or deal, I'm sold.

So excited. They put out some English screens on twitter.

God this game looks amazing.

Still not sure which console to get this for but the new features are definitely welcome, I'll probably have to see some PS4 footage before I decide, worried that it wont look too great over the Vita version anyway.

How like SMT is it mechanically? That part has me pretty interested since I'm agnostic about the Digimon IP/license itself. Hopefully the difficulty can be ramped up substantially if it was universally regarded as a cakewalk.

In battle you have three Digimon, with 7 backups. The tougher battles rely heavily on exploiting weaknesses and using stat boosts. There is nothing like the press-turn system, but there are bosses who will speed themselves up and knock out your entire party with you barely getting a turn in. And even though most of it is a cakewalk, there are points where random enemy Digimon can mess you up if you're not paying attention.

Outside of battle, it is important to evolve/degenerate Digimon and sometimes combining them to get better attacks and higher stats. (Which I spent an unhealthy amount of time on.)

If you are curious to see it in action (I'm not the best at describing), look up the Cyber Sleuth Demon Lord DLC battles on Youtube. Those are the hardest battles in the game.
