So you guys think Crunchyroll will ever release the first season? I hate missing out on all the backstory and there aren't any officially licensed subs out there.

Oh boy, next ep (Jan 8) is gonna rock.

Hint:
Observe the silhouettes

Seeing Davis and younger Tai is going to be weird. Hope the kid from the digimon WS games appear too :)

Much like the other shows in TOEI's Sunday morning shows (Gokaiger, Fourze, PreCure), there is no new ep this week due to new year!

Whelp, even years later Digimon World Dusk is still addictive as hell. Just need some bros to actually play with.

On another topic, I started Savers some time ago and I liked what I saw, though it was only 8 episodes or so. Is it worth continuing to the end.

Yeah savers is awesome, just takes a while to start up. Has the blandest female protag though.

Spent my entire Winter Break watching Digimon Adventure 02 on HULU, the sheer nostalgic joy I got from WarGreymon Vs. BlackWarGreymon was the best.

Anyone remember the game Digimon World? I remember playing it at my friends house and really liking it, but never got around to buying it. I think I might have to purchase a copy off Amazon or somewhere and start playing it again.

Is that the one with a blue Metal Greymon on the cover? I remember that game. That said, the only thing I don't remember about it is that it wasn't like Digimon Adventure at all, which I didn't like, and that when inside buildings you could only walk, not run.

Weird, I am pretty sure running speed is the same.

Oh god you opened me bad memories on recruiting Monochromon in that game.

Yep.

I guess it's the only one so far with the title changed (for some odd reason).

Correct. The first four shows were simply called Digimon in the US. I kind of wonder if Xros Wars will ever get a dub.

Weird, I recall seeing 02, Tamers and Frontier at some point in their English dubs...

Really? I always remember them simply calling it Digimon.
*checks Tamers dub intro* Nope, it's just called Digimon.

Toei Animation Europe has a listing for "Digimon Fusion Battles" on their website: http://www.toei-animation.com/en/content/digimon-fusion-battles. Not sure if that means anything or not, but I thought it was interesting. It says the year is 2010-2011 which is odd, but it does list it as "in production" so who knows.

Wow, so DS was the first to gain the subtitle? That's... weird. Well I guess "season" is enough to tell them apart.

I guess they don't want to air it yet until Young Hunters is finished.

Xros Wars already had a few episodes dubbed as a pilot to networks. It's all up to those in charge if they want to bite.

That might be because of where you live and who licensed the show. IIRC South East Asian Cartoon Network aired the ordinary Toei USA Data Squad dub under the name "Digimon Savers" and actually had an English "Digimon Savers" logo.

Ahh right. Oh well.

At least you guys managed to differentiate them for different stories... then again it also explains why the nuttier fanboys think all of the seasons are part of a single universe.

Guys, tomorrow is the day we were all waiting for. Are you ready?!?

Wait...what is happening now?

Honestly....watched the first 3 seasons. Then got 4/5.....watched the first episode of each and was so horrified at what an insult to the series they were that I never went back. I like the old ones enough that if the series is good again I may try it out.

Apparently that was in the dub only.

The cards and virtual pets existed, but all the mentions of the anime were in the dub only.

They did Agumon battles when two Greymon fought in Season 1, and in Season 2 when WarGreymon fought BlackWarGreymon.

SkullGreymon is best though, the Digimon version of Oozaru.

I'm surprised that people forgot Magnamon.

Since people are suddenly "how can Daisuke fight when his best mon is XVmon and he can't Imperialdramon without Stingmon!" when somehow they forgot Magnamon existed. Though I guess that happens when you only appear 1 episode and lacked build up.

The fact the egg wasn't supposed to be his in the first place doesn't help either.

I thought they were only interchangeable in the games, while in the show, everyone got either 1 or 2, with Davis getting the lucky draw being the hero.

There's an audio drama where the Digieggs are interchanged between the various Digidestined, and they obtain to make Veemon and co. digivolve with different Digieggs.
It's the one about Valentine Day, IIRC, where Davis is taken by an obscure entity due to Kari and TK.

Yeah, I specifically remember a line in 02 where someone said to Davis "This egg was supposed to be for Ken, but since you're wearing goggles..."

Any reason why his finisher move was called Extreme Jihad?

Also, that is the most epic scene in the entire series.

I wonder what Wormmon would transform into with that egg.

Hilariously enough Kongoumon was a generic throwaway boss in Xros Wars (the arc he appears in is focused on DarkKnightmon and Deckerdramon).

Given the context...you could consider it something like "Extreme Sacrifice" or something like that. More so, seeing as Wormmon gives Magnamon the power to even pull off that attack. (Granted, it doesn't kill Magnamon, though it reverts him back to In-Training.)

The term 'jihad' has accrued both violent and non-violent meanings. It can simply mean striving to live a moral and virtuous life, spreading and defending Islam as well as fighting injustice and oppression, among other things.[15] The relative importance of these two forms of jihad is a matter of controversy. A poll by Gallup showed that a "significant majority" of Muslim Indonesians define the term to mean "sacrificing one's life for the sake of Islam/God/a just cause" or "fighting against the opponents of Islam". In Lebanon, Kuwait, Jordan, and Morocco, the majority used the term to mean "duty toward God", a "divine duty", or a "worship of God", with no militaristic connotations. Other responses referenced, in descending order of prevalence:

"A commitment to hard work" and "achieving one's goals in life"
"Struggling to achieve a noble cause"
"Promoting peace, harmony or cooperation, and assisting others"
"Living the principles of Islam"[16]
