Digital Foundry: Skyrim - Switch 2 Review - PS5-Level Visuals, Terrible Latency

I'm not defending, I'm remarking the hypocrisy people fascinated by RDR2 when they don't accept same thing from other games.

I mean, have you an example of people that glaze RDR2 while also speaking out against this input lag issue here?

oooor, are these 2 completely different groups of people?

It's should be 60fps, even with those visuals. The game is old AF. I'm sure they'll fix the latency, but the frame rate I don't think so

How did that even get past QA?

Even if you have two functioning brain cells, a latency of 200ms+ isn't hard to feel.

there's tons of stuff like that where I wonder if noone involved actually tested the game or played it for more than 1 seconds.

how do you ship a game and forget to turn anisotropic texture filtering on for example? something that according to Digital Foundry happened with multiple games, as they found out by talking to devs about the missing AF in PS4 titles back in the day.

or how is it that devs still fuck up analog aiming? or even simpler things like a menu cursor.

That's not the anniversary version, but the classic one, which is much more similar to the Switch 1 version than the PS5 version in terms of graphics. The PS5 version can't even maintain a stable 60 fps when there are a lot of particle effects on screen, such as dragon flames.
Ofc, but switch2 port should prioritize 60fps at 1080p, that additional 10-20% better graphics isnt worth crazy input lag/halving the framerate :messenger_sunglasses:
