- Not much changed between demo and final in terms of platform comparison
- PS5|SX 4K target with 60 FPS (in arcade mode)
- World tour in Graphics mode has uneven 30 FPS in battles and 60 in traversal
- Toggling performance mode drops res to 1440p/60 FPS in world tour battles.
- The performance toggle only makes a difference here, it does not change anything in any other mode.
- PS5|SX show some signs of checkerboard but resolution is static.
- Series S runs with one mode, 1080p/60 FPS in all modes, including world tour battles.
- One-off drops in traversal but otherwise locked 60 FPS in every mode.
Last gen: (PS4 and Pro only)
- 1 v 1 arcade mode runs at locked 60 on both.
- PS4: 1080p, PS4 Pro: 1440p.
- World tour battles capped to 30 FPS on PS4 and Pro
- Traversal are unlocked 30 to 60 (mostly 40 to 60) on both
- World tour low quality textures, half refresh enemies aren't fixed from demo to final.
- PS4 / Pro have massive texture streaming bugs that are also untouched.
- Battle Hub is native 4K and 60 FPS with only one off drops on modern consoles.
- Series S specific cutbacks:
- 1080p versus 4K.
- Fine details like hair, textures, materials take a hit. The TAA struggles to resolve hair especially
- Series S cuts the muscle deformation tech seen on SX|PS5 in finishing moves
- Background details like density of NPCs and shadows are also cut back.
- PS4 to PS5 cutbacks
- SSR is completely cut-off in arcade mode, ambient shading also dialed down
- SSR is on PS4 Pro the same quality as Series S
- Environmental object physics are removed (eg cherry blossoms don't animate)
- Base PS4 and Pro (surprisingly) have some higher quality textures compared to Series S
*adding latency in a bit*
- Latency testing:
- Pretty consistent across modern consoles and PC
- 58 ms with a margin of one, two MS. Series S has the fastest latency but it's anecdotal *
- Last gen: PS4 and Pro version has 70, 73MS responses
- The game has a built in mode to reduce latency
* You need to enable the input reduction delay option to reach these fast latency responses.
* without this option enabled, the average latency can be as high as 90MS.
