Dishonored E3 Gameplay Trailer

It´s actually more like Thief. Central hub where you can buy/sell stuff and get missions from npc´s. Then the missions themselves are "instanced" for lack of a better word.

At least that´s how i understood it.

Seems pretty bad technically, but the art style and actual gameplay should carry it. The Bioshock/City 17 inspirations are obvious and appreciated.

I hope it will be more like HR, because Deadly Shadows' hub world was small and useless IMO.

Hopefully it will be awesome.

I´ve read a comment here about someone hoping for a no kills playthrough.... have the devs said anything about if it´s possible or no?

I always found that taking a less conspicuous approach in these types of games is always more satisfying for me.

It already had a cgi trailer and was announced a few months (I think) ago with some screenshots. It also had some sort of dev diary. It has been known for some while now.

Thanks. That CGI trailer is great. I'm really looking forward to this game now. Hopefully Arkane is better at PS3 programming than their Zenimax colleagues..

If I remember correctly do whales play a big part in the game's world. So that's why they sing "drunken whaler" instead of "drunken sailor"

After watching that trailer, this has ousted out Tomb Raider as the game I am most looking forward to seeing more of during E3.

Very interested in this, though I have serious doubts it will make it out this year. So little has been shown for a game that is supposed to come out in 5 months.

Didn't care much for the trailer, but I think I'm simply getting too weary to appreciate montage-trailers anymore. I hope next week we get a 10 minute walkthrough, those are my favorite things about E3.

Rat plasmids for me please.

Best part of the trailer.

What's up with this art? Is the main guy a terminator/cyborg?

Not a huge fan of the art style, but the game sounds brilliant. There really needs to be a longish video preview of the game to show it off properly.

We probably get something like that on the E3, since marketing for this game seems to be quite good, and they are releasing more material towards the E3

I'm really looking forward to this, but one thing still concerns me from when I saw the first screens released. I know the city is dystopian and is supposed to look cold and dark (which I have no problem with), but if this game is open world, I hope that doesn't mean the city will also feel empty and lifeless or that everyone walking the street is an enemy. For example, in the opening sequence of Half-Life 2, with the station and apartments, there were still some non-interactive npcs to convey a populated city with oppressed people rather than a completely abandoned city.

Really liking the artsyle and the gameplay seems to be rather good, smooth too.
The graphics not sure if video is shitty.

Yup, that's what I'm hoping for.
It'll probably be more likely to get a preview like that during the 'on the floor' coverage by IGN or a similar site rather than it being shown during a conference.

The intro to the trailer was great...

Then the gameplay started. Graphics aren't great, and all the trailer showed was stabbing... OP says its a stealth game? That makes me want it in third person.

Nice art style though.

The game is structured around small sandboxes that allow a big variety of aproaches, including non-lethal and stealth.

i think deus ex would be the best comparison

This kind of stealth reminds me more of Arkham Asylum than Thief, and I don't know if I like that, to be honest.

With the amount of choice this game will supposedly give us, I wouldn't be surprised if that's just one skill you can invest in, with the option to play nearly any way you want.

Yeah, I mean it in the way that basically you're hidden in higher ground until you decide to kill someone then disappear again. You're just way too resourceful.

Still have high hopes for the game, lack of actual gameplay just makes my head drift...

So glad Arkane is finally putting out something new. Dark Messiah had a lot of amazing ideas and seeing a more fully-baked game with an all new setting etc is just what I wanted.

I have no idea what's going on in that trailer and the graphics are kind of unimpressive, but the game looks really neat and I'm interested.

Wow what the heck did i just watch. What a fantastic blend of refreshing content there. Really the styles are uniquely combined. Reminds of seeing Bioshock for the first time.

Would like to know this as well. Not a deal breaker if it's not, it would just be a nice bonus.

Nope. You have a linear mission progression as in you have to go here and kill a specific person when you're told to, but the levels you are put in are large enough to have multiple paths and multiple solutions. Think a combination of Deus Ex and Hitman. Like one example is you can get up high enough across from a house you need to get to and if you have this kind of teleport/dash move you can run and zip across to a ledge high up on the target's house, maybe making it easier to get to him without going through 2 floors of guards.
