Sorry, bruh, but I will forever believe that superhero movies in their current form peaked with Iron Man.

And judging by your avatar, you don't even want to know what I think about the Dark Knight trilogy.

Let's just have a virtual handshake here and leave it at that.

Wake me up when they get to Hercules.

Give it to Andrew Stanton. Keep this bland Favreau away from it.

Man it would be the shit. That's a live action Disney movie I can get behind. Superman mixed with Greek myth

The clash of the titans movies are terrible too so the characters are still pretty ripe for adaptation

Yup, I would watch that.

So the real question is how many white people are going to be playing re-imagined animals in the AFRICAN SAVANNAH?

I'm one of the biggest proponents of not white-washing, but dude.. They're talking animals.

To answer your question though, Jungle Book had a fairly diverse voice cast.

This is the shit you people asked for.

"What other reimaginings do you want to see!". Nobody to blame but yourselves. I'll be staying out of the theaters, just like Jungle Book.

Why does that make you bitter?

Your childhood is over. They're not doing anything to the original film. Let a new generation of children enjoy a new take on the story.
Sorry if that wasn't clear, I agreed with that sentiment in that it worked as a musical, (phenomenally well actually) so room for more reimagining. Think I'm half asleep and meant to explain that further;

People hold their childhood as sacred so that's why they lash out at stuff like this. I need to watch Jungle Book...

It's not about "childhood" being sacred. For whatever reason these films everyone gives a pass to being remade in a way they wouldn't give to Star Wars or E.T.

Frankly I couldn't give a shit about any film being remade. Though, I think the best remakes are remakes that tell a story in a different way. Whether by transplanting genre or medium. If someone wanted to do the equivalent of this, and remake Star Wars as an animated film, you can bet your ass I'd be there for the first showing.

I'm intrigued to see what can be done with this re-imagining. The original movie had a runtime of 1 hour 29 minutes, so it will be interesting to see how they alter the story to increase the length of the movie.

As far as voice actors, I'm sure Disney will knock it out of the park. I thought The Jungle Book had a great cast.

I want to know if the animals will look as convincing as TJB, or if they will go for a more animated look.

Is this setting up a cinematic universe?

Disney kinda realizing that people just want gritty realism in their fun movies too.

This is like the HD console generation all over again!

I've heard Jungle Book is good at least.

The stage production of lion king is awesome, so if that's their foundation I have no problems with a live action re-re-re-re-imagining of The Lion King ジャングル大帝.

Live action? Lol. They should've just went CG. I haven't seen the new Jungle Book movie, but wasn't that like 3 animals in CG talking? The whole cast in Lion King is an animal.

Good luck I guess.

FOH, there can only be one true King.

Puma, get the lights! Roll this Mufasa looking MFer out.

Do the chant: Scar! SCAR! SCAR!!!

No thanks.

All the characters are going to be CGI and thus all the emotions have to come from the voice acting alone (unless they make the faces unrealistic to real life lions) and it's not going to work as well IMO.

This whole idea is very odd to me.

More than that. Every animal (and there were much more than 3) in jungle book was cg, even the environment. Only thing real was the kid (and maybe some humans he sees from a distance). So same thing with lion king. Will be all cg.

Can we get James Earl Jones back please

I guess idris would be an alright substitute but man they are on a huge uphill climb with this one

Because I really don't see anybody being a worthy successor to James Earl Jones, Jeremy Irons or Nathan Lane

The rest are interchangeable but those 3 work so damn well. But also casting them again renders this movie kinda redundant too so ehhh
