The move was part of a company cost-cutting campaign and came after Mr. Perlmutter was part of an unsuccessful attempt to shake up Disney’s board.

Sounds like he staged a coup and the fuhrer found out

Maybe someone will come in with fresh ideas that will generate excitement for the people who gradually lost interest after Avengers wrapped up.

MCU is dead, Disney just doesn't realize it yet. Nobody is going to sign on for this phase nonsense anymore. They did it once, for like 15 years, they're not going to do it again, even if the content was great. Of course, it's not.

Remember Disney tried to turn SW into a universe like MCU, it failed because the content was shitty, but also because people aren't going to sign up for this shit indefinitely. It's like a gaas game, you play one, and it's the same one everyone else plays. The rest fail.

The first round was such a hit because there was a series of good to decent films starring charismatic actors with small crossovers that built up to a bigger storyline. Right now there's a bunch of weak replacement characters/actors, way too much content needed to follow the story, unclear bigger picture, mediocre installments, etc that just pushes people away.

The massive recent successes of Top Gun, Avatar, John Wick, and on a smaller scale, Everything Everywhere, is partially indicative of the thirst for other kinds of big screen experiences that have been pushed aside for the last entire decade+ for capeshit. People are tired of it. Historically dominating movie trends come and go after a decade or so, look at westerns and musicals of the 30s-40s, film noirs of the 40s-50s, crime thrillers of the 70s, muscle bound action films of the 80s-90s... etc. Nothing is forever.

Wasn't he one of the guys that tried to keep the woke stuff away from Disney?

He was the guy who penny pinched and tried to get Feige fired... Ushered in the Inhumans TV show... Tried to penny pinch so hard that he would have prevented Spider-Man coming into the MCU and exing all the characters in Captain America: Civil War. He was a massive cunt at Marvel

Flashless at the Golden Globes
Its never good to see anyone get laid off, but it is good to see execs get the boot before worker bees. his salary is probably in the millions along with stock options. unless he had a golden parachute, his firing probably paid for 50-100 employees.

If by woke stuff you mean trying to not have any female heroes, even trying to refuse Black Widow in Avengers, and refusing a Black Panther film, the one MCU film with a Best Picture nom, then yes, it was this fucking idiot.
We all know why Black Panther won a best picture nom and it wasn't for the quality.

That said I was glad they made the movie because the character is badass and one of the coolest marvel characters.
Marvel vs capcom infinite will forever be a great one for me because BP is in it.

"We all know"? I'm so tired of hearing "because Hollywood is woke" ... For ME, it was because of the music, Chadwick's acting, Jordan's acting, and the costuming. Story could have been better but Chadwick and Michael B carried the film.

The guy is 80? I don't want to be ageist, but I mean, after one passes about 70 maybe they should think about handing things off to the next generation. Any younger generation.

Story and visuals. That CGI was rough. Chadwick and Jordan performed spectacularly but the content they performed just was weaker than previous marvel movies.

Black Panther is a mediocre movie. Terrible CGI, boring characters, openly racist characters treated as heroes. The only reason it is well liked is because of politics. Otherwise it would just be another in a long line of mediocre marvel films and not remembered at all.
Hard disagree. I love that flick man, and it's not for any political reasons. For some reason I found it more touching than most Marvel flicks, and I genuinely loved the story and acting. Haven't cared to see the sequel though, and it seems mediocre to me.

I agree about the movie being boring and the terrible CGI. It was a mediocre Marvel movie in my opinion.

I don't think it was racist really. But then again I love The Jeffersons and find it pretty funny when George Jefferson calls white people honkies. But you can tell it's all in good taste and jest.

I feel that Jeffersons is a bit different than how it is portrayed here. Maybe it is simply because of the cultural situation at the time or the history of the two words, but it never sat right with me and was outright offensive. The fact that I had students repeatedly calling me "colonizer" in school during class only further bolstered my great dislike to how they treated it there.

The Sea is Always Right
Black Panther was easily one of the better Marvel movies, but it being nominated for best picture was a bit much. Without Chad Bosewick, I haven't felt compelled to watch BP2.

Anyway, wake me up when Kathleen Kennedy gets the boot.

That's actually hilarious, and I'm guessing your reaction to it (if it's anything like you've posted here) only encouraged them to continue calling you that. :messenger_tears_of_joy:

Of course you and DT would find racist shit like that funny. Speaks volumes on your characters.

They were suspended for 3 weeks. That shit is unacceptable and they stopped.

So shitty it got a Best Picture nom...I wonder why you are so salty? I think I know why but let's not take this any further. Let's agree to disagree friend.
I wonder why you think that movie deserves that? I think I know why, but let's not take it any further.

Also, Jordan is a good actor, but Chadwick is not.

Good, anything that hurts Marvel is a wise decision.

He knew that all the movies were shit and tried to do something about it. If he had succeeded, we wouldn't be in the situation we are in, with the movie industry on its deathbed. That people on here actually think Black Panther or Eternals or whatever are good movies, is all the proof we need that people have no taste and must be stopped.
