This isn't ok, but it reveals a lot of who you are. @DeafTourette too, that one doesn't surprise me his decision tree pointed to liking this.
The fact is, he's a teacher, he let the kids get the better of him over a joke, he probably overreacted to it which would then only prompt the kids to call him that name more, to the point where he suspended multiple students over it, ...over a joke of a name. The best way to deal with it is to let it slide or jokingly play into it so that they see it doesn't bother you.

By the way, what does it reveal about me? The way you jump to throw a comment like that in and rope in another member says more about you.

I can’t believe people here still fall for the edgy bait posts. Oh well, to be fair I guess it’s more exciting to talk about Black Panther yet again, than some random old exec being fired.

Well, of course they had to let go of him, he didn't buy into the woke garbage. And given their recent string of flops and underperformances, it looks like he was right. Funny how 2019 is the last year that Marvel projects were going through him, and 2020 is when Marvel started its downward spiral.

This is not ok, telling him to suck it up when kids make racist insults at him and to let it slide. Would you think the same if he was black and kids called him cotton picker, or if he was latino and the kids called him wetback? You are just racist.

Does anyone have any sources for what this guy did besides the paywalled article in the OP? NYT is not the bastion of integrity it once was so I ain't paying for that shit.

As for Black Panther, I'm sure everyone who went into it was hoping for more of this:

Instead of whatever the fuck this is:

How shitty is it your superhero has way better action scenes in someone else's move than his own, smh

MCU is dead, Disney just doesn't realize it yet. Nobody is going to sign on for this phase nonsense anymore. They did it once, for like 15 years, they're not going to do it again, even if the content was great. Of course, it's not.

Remember Disney tried to turn SW into a universe like MCU, it failed because the content was shitty, but also because people aren't going to sign up for this shit indefinitely. It's like a gaas game, you play one, and it's the same one everyone else plays. The rest fail.
This, MCU had a good run of 13-14 years? People have moved on, they are not going to see your 13 movies and 20 TV shows to keep up with some shit writing continuity.

So shitty it got a Best Picture nom...I wonder why you are so salty? I think I know why but let's not take this any further. Let's agree to disagree friend.

I enjoyed it, but let’s be real. It didn’t get a Best Picture nom on its own merits.

Yes! Everyone was psyched for the Black Panther movie after he was the best part of Civil War, then in his own movie he somehow went backwards and got his ass beat throughout.

It's obvious Perlmutter is out because of helping Peltz during his proxy fight. Peltz backed off once Iger laid out his plan for the company but I doubt that had on it that he was cutting his friend or maybe that was one of the compromises and Perlmutter also knew.

“This is it for you cousin!”

That line and scene was the shit.

The movie itself was alright, but I really liked the acting and the unique music/culture on display. The cast was awesome.

Im not a superhero movie buff. I only watch some of them.

But for people criticizing superhero movies being the same, lame or too action packed, can part of the reason simply be burn out?

Just because Marvel makes a shit ton of them, you dont have to watch all of them. I get the hint people most critical of their series probably watch just about all of them.

Maybe the movies wouldnt be so meh if they cut back on them.

Saving Private Ryan was an excellent movie. But if Speilerg made 8 different follow up movies in the next 8 years based on different back stories, the German viewpoint, and stories based off minor support characters, people would get burned out them too.

I agree about the movie being boring and the terrible CGI. It was a mediocre Marvel movie in my opinion.

I don't think it was racist really. But then again I love The Jeffersons and find it pretty funny when George Jefferson calls white people honkies. But you can tell it's all in good taste and jest.
The main villain was literally a black lives matter extremist with muscles who want to weaponize black men to kill white men.

People saying he was a great villain make me think that i'm living in bizzarro world, he was as shitty and insultingly stupid as 95% of marvel villains.

The only saving grace was his screen presence and good acting, the character and motivations were beyond cringe.

The movie was yet another marvel semi-turd and we all know why it had that type of success.

And they are pretty dammed good.

Theme.is not the issue, it's all about the story. If it is good, it will sell.
