Do any of you regret your username?

My name is supposed to be a metaphor for the idea behind a thread, followed by its disastrous conclusion.

No regrets, but it is hard for people to pronounce when I play Steam games and people call me out on microphone.

I hate my username - it's so cliche. I originally used this name way back before NeoGAF, so I guess I didn't want to change my name when GAF was revamped and a bunch of new people were let in.

The 79 on the end. I was so used to having to put a number on the end because people already use it on forums and live. Makes me look stupid probably.

On the flip side GAF is probably the only place that recognizes the name. On Live they either think it's my real name or I'm a girl.

This thread made me go looking for the people who are using my names that I actually want to use, like Atticus who has made a total of two posts during his tenure. Or McGarnagle who was banned maybe 2 years ago.

Annoyingly I'd assume I could convince a mod to give me McGarnagle since he's banned but I really want Atticus and he's super well-behaved, albeit not really all that prolific. Maybe I could bait him into posting lolchartzez numbers or his views on female motorists.

Considering my old username du jour was ToxicEnema, I think I made a better choice.

But lately I wish I could just be TA. I don't think you can only have two characters as a username.

I totally regret mine, I hate how I had to put the 3 in r3d

I was into red pandas at the time, now....not so much

I do like my avatar though

I regretted my original user name as everyone thought I was Tim Schafer. Thankfully the mods took pity and let me change it.

Nope :D

However, I do need to get around to changing my avatar at some point, since I haven't touched City of Heroes in long time.

baultista is a spawn from when I was a wrestling fan. It feels like so long ago.

My new username includes my first name, which I might not want to use on a public forum (yet it's fine for Twitter)

I love my name, but I hate how everyone thinks I misspelled it. The misspelling people drove me to my current avatar.

For the record, my name is not a misspelling of tack; my name is based off of a character from Invader Zim.

Totally random name that I ran with, but then someone PM'd me that is sounds like another fancy word in another language.
That secret is with me. :lol

Used it since 2001 on IRC. The name comes from a joke about my original username Libby and I just decided to keep it.

My username came along by accident in a pretty cool way. I wanted it to be Delta-9 after the beginning of the scientific name for cannabis, so after 2 years of waiting for a username I was super high when i found I became a member so I accidentally switched the word Delta with Tetra. btw at least the term "Tetra" is also in the scientific name, so it's like the name fulfilled the plants short-term memory fun.

I used to post under my real name a long long time ago, before Detective-GAF was ever conceived :D

I dreamt up my user name after doing a creative translation of Kagatu Ninjatai Gatchaman... I had no idea it was so unique until I noticed someone later bought the domain, trademarked it and others started cropping up elsewhere.

I do. I was in a Nintendo phase at the height of the Revolution hype when I thought it up, so now I kinda look like a fanboy when in reality I'm more neutral nowadays (in fact, like most of OT-GAF I don't actually play games all that much anymore). Now I wish I could change it pretty much everywhere. It's hard to get rid of a nickname that was basically at the center of my online identity for 3 years though...

I started regretting it once that turd imposter started harshing my mellow and soiling my good name/looks.
your new avatar is fantastic, though

my name is fine, I wish I could change it to my newer, fresher s/n that I use on other boards now

I made mine after playing GK3 back in like 1999. I just thought it was neat at the time, but everyone accuses me of taking it from The DaVinci Code or some book series I've never read (Wheel of Time?). I guess its really from The Holy Blood and The Holy Grail some book from the 80s, but whatever.

I should have gone with Schattenjäger

I like the word fantastical, so no.

The only bad thing is that I didn't know there was someone with a user name of "Foxtastical"...

I do kind of regret my username. GallonOMilk ... like Gallon Of Milk. It really has no meaning, and I don't even like milk. Haven't had any in over 10 years. Like ... not even with cereal.

Hell no, my name is versatile. It can mean anything.

dreamcatcher
shit for brains
piece of the tree of knowledge
a trinket that keeps you out of danger

infinite possibilities

I really dislike mine, just an old as dirt nic I've used on the nets for a few years and currently in the process of revamping my online persona could someone change it?

Was stumped thinking of a cool name. Was watching Gantz at the time of registering and decided on a whim to name myself after one of the targets. Nothing special, and I don't regret it.

Yes.

I wish I had named my account "Reivaxe" . . . Or atleast "Wind-Chu" . . . or "Windy-Chu".

Or "X-Wind" . . . or "Windy-X".

Wow, probably the first person in this thread who wants their name changed to something WORSE.

I enjoy drinking Kool Aid. However, that does not mesh well with the high class connotations that goes along with my choice of avatar.

So, sort of.

I'm not exactly recognized enough for my username to be a factor in either direction, but I like it. I love Krazy Kat, and Bum Bill Bee was one of my favorite characters. And it's better than some of my earlier username choices on other forums, haha.
