Do you have a side hustle?

How do you guys make extra money on the side? I'm back to working a 8-4 job after a long hiatus and often think about how much more money I could be making while doing something I enjoy.

Tutoring/test prep for a select few students who have been coming to me for years. I don't need it, but they're good kids, and it gives me an extra few hundred a month.

Funny thing is that I was doing exactly this as my side gig a few years ago, and through literally no effort on my part, all the referrals in the very hot area I happened to live in turned it into my full-time job.

The memory of turning in my letter of resignation for my "actual" job still exhilarates me to this day

I've been meaning to look into opportunities to make some extra cash doing Excel, Stata, or R work of Fiverr, I keep getting lazy and not looking into it though. I had a friend who claimed to be making decent-ish money on the side making Excel dashboards for businesses.

I don't really need the money though, so it's hard to get motivated. It would be nice to either put some more money each month into savings or have some spare cash I could blow on nonsense without feeling guilty though.

My favorite human being works full time in a UPS office, manages 2 apartment buildings, bartends for 1 Saturday a month, and sells weed.

Peace, Love, Dope...I love you Jerrick.

I've started foraging for gourmet mushrooms. Working on a cultivation plan and a plant nursery. Plan on running an orchard and mushroom farm in my retirement.

No nothing here but I'd love to get something going. Really don't know where to start or if I have any in demand skills though.

Interesting :)

I'm currently making my own game and getting into voice work on the side. Investments toward the future ... Lol. Not sure if you can call them hustles when I'm not making shit, actually losing money.

But I could easily be doing mograph freelance in the spare time, but I realize I'm just literally not giving a shit when I do that and pumping more crap design into the world . I wouldn't want to hire me to make my company better. Maybe someday :)

I've second shot some weddings but I'll be perfectly honest.. my side hustle is my overtime. I've made more in overtime every year than I did the first 8 years of my salaried career.

70 hour weeks is a side hustle

Nothing here but I'm on a visa so I stay away from alternate sources of income so as to not jeopardize my visa status . I guess if I was American I would bartend/bounce as I know many in the industry here at psu as a supplement to grad school . Not sure if it would be a good idea tho a math phd did it and e quit his phd and ended up running off to Vegas three years back no idea what he's upto now .

I barely wanna do a 40-hour main-hustle, fuck if I wanna do more than that

But I suppose I try to donate plasma

Oh cool you a Morel kinda guy? I only hunt them and give them to my parents but I don't think I have it in me to wander the woods to get enough to sell (and sell to...?)

Chanterelles are the easiest things to find around these parts right now. There's an enormous variety that grow around here though, moreso later in the summer. I'm lucky to live in a part of the country with lots of restaurants that prioritize local ingredients. I've yet to taste a morel myself actually. I'm new to the endeavor, but it's been an oddly natural thing for me as someone who likes to walk, likes being out alone in nature, likes finding secluded secret spots, and likes making money :p

It's actually only 36. 40 hours is the limit most professions allow you to work until you start getting paid overtime, which is usually time and a half.

Splitting hairs a bit. The standard work week is by far 40 hours. He didn't ask the minimum hours to be legally considered full-time.

As soon as I replenish my wallet from a recent emergency so that I can do it up right, I'll jump into the game streaming...game. No delusions about it, though. I'll be keeping my full time job, thanks.

I'm thinking about selling illustrations and designs on redbubble once I save up for a tablet. Anyone have any experience with digital art sales? Are there other places for a graphic designer to make some side cheddar?

I do freelance translation on the sly my current job (which has huge stretches of nothing at all going on). No-one knows or cares so its like being paid double without losing out on my free time! (I'm a bad person)

It would be extreamly painful...
Haven't we had this thread before?

No. I'm quite lucky in that my full-time job pays me enough to keep me clothed, housed and in enough videogames to not have to worry.

I've tried but with a demanding job, hobbies, dating, etc., hard to find the time without losing my sanity.

I have a full time 9am - 6pm Job, in the evening I have an ecommerce business, a translation service and a twitch channel. I still make time for my wife and our excersise most days.

I love to work though, she tells me to relax, but working is relaxing for me.

I own virtual business in ETS2.

So no, not really. One time a year I'm taking pictures of beer fest for money tho.

I have a few Amazon affiliate sites. They're relatively new and not well ranked yet, but it's a long term plan to have a portfolio of niche sites earning income.

I flip video games from a variety of retailers but primarily Gamestop to Amazon (trade in) and to sell on both Amazon/Ebay. It brings in roughly 300-400 a month which allows me to put more into my roth IRA and fund my gaming habit.

I've tried to do some freelance translation while looking for a decent paying job. It's hard to find anything, though... Most clients would rather hire an amateur translator (way cheaper) than someone with a master's degree for small jobs, so here I am

My wife's side hustle turned into my side hustle turned into our full time business. (Digital marketing and virtual assistance agency).

Now? My side hustle is NBA betting a mix of season long over unders and dfs.

Made about 2200 last two seasons. I could make more but I'm a cowardly bettor.
