I like to see the contrast and black levels on the TV, which aren't as impressive with lights directly on it. I darken the room, but put lights on somewhere further like the kitchen so not pitch black.

I played Alien Isolation in the dark - I had to put a sticker over the Xbox one LED on the pad as it was so bright in the pitch black.

My eyesight is TRASH so I can't really do any gaming with lights out or in a pitch-dark room. I'm just so used to playing in well-lit spaces and I can't go back.
