It might potentially be regional. I'm also from western pa and I've always heard and said reeseas

Too late to change now /shrug

My brain hurts. I literally cannot understand how anyone can think it's "Ree-seas"?

Reese apostrophe S. It's a thing belonging to Reese.

For people confused I don't think anyone is reading the word and coming to that conclusion. It's more than likely that someone pronounced it wrong and it got passed along. People hear the name of candy far more than they read the name of candy and considering most of us probably learned about Reese's as a child it's not odd to me that the pronounciation got screwed. I know people that say zink instead of sink and urnge instead of orange but it's not because they can't read. It's just what they came up hearing.

It's not we like don't have decades of TV commercials pronouncing it for us, even if it wasn't supremely obvious.

We've always said Reese is

I think its because re say Reese Is, Piece Is

Whenever we get milkshakes with Reeses in them they say Reeseas. Its odd to us lol.

Reeseas

Wasn't it supposed to rhyme with pieces?

I've always pronounced them Reeseas Peaseas :/

Yes. "Ree-seas" is objectively wrong.

I don't get it. Doesn't it mean it should be pronounced "ree-seas" if you want it to rhyme with "pieces"? I thought the OP meant "do you pronounce it 'riss' or 'rizz'." I pronounce it "riss" because it rhymes with "piece".

Reeseas? Are people in this thread serious?

Do you say Reeseas best movie when you are talking about Legally Blonde?

It's a possessive form of the name Reese. Rhymes with Pieces

It's fucking "Reese's" you fucking monsters. "REE-SUZ".

This isn't even arguable. It's literally a possessive proper noun. Shit ain't complicated.

Reese-is

I don't see the word "seas" in there.

It's like saying "Donald's" with ownership. Things would be different if there were two 'e's at the end.
