Sometimes I think I am the only Who fan that thinks the weeping angels are dumb. I just don't like them at all, and everybody else seems to think they are the best villain since the Daleks. They are DUMB. They are Boos from Super Mario World, only they look like angel statues. I find the logistics of their "powers" to be entirely stupid. Everybody fucking blinks. It is basically impossible not to blink after a few minutes of trying not to, but somehow nobody ever blinks. Bullshit. Everybody that encounters them should be dead.

In my opinion they are just a beta version of The Silence aliens, a villain that also uses a "something happens when you look away" mechanic that makes much more sense. Their power doesn't completely fall apart after you think about its mechanics for more than a minute and a half.

Anyway, as for a different topic, I noticed that in the new trailer the Doctor mentions to Amy that he is doing something to honor the victims of "him, The Master, and the Daleks". Rory is not in this scene. This is more fuel to the "Rory is the Master" theory. Does anybody here buy that theory? Personally, I'm not sure, but I really hope it's true because that would be awesome.

Noticeable: The new paradigm Daleks have been given a makeover.

Even more noticeable: They're buried under a metric fucktonne of Proper Daleks.

Yeah, proper admission of failure, I feel. Good, though, as those new ones are bloody horrible. Hopefully the adjustments made make them look better.

Well, with the Weeping Angels, they usually do not stare at them for a long time but mostly get interrupted by something, but there have been a couple of moments in the series where the people would not blink their eyes simultaneously so that one eye is open.

8, 9, 10 for sure. 7 actually has fared alright, though not for action - but he doesn't look all that older - partly because they showed him old in the movie pre-regeneration. The others... tough to say, really - not really without some time-bending plot to explain why they look older. Even then, I'd not expect them to be running around.

A "modern era" multi-Doctor episode would be the wisest thing, I think - 8, 9, 10 and 11.

I still feel what would be very cool is that if Matt is regenerating next year (I really do feel like Series 8 will be his last) is if that was the regeneration episode. Helped through his regeneration by his past selves? Would be very cool.

As a random side note - with Red Dwarf coming back for a proper, full series later this year, I feel the next Red Nose Day has to have a Who/RD crossover skit. Surely. Please?!

The thing is...powers in Doctor Who aren't really built to hold up to that much scrutiny anyway. It's a pulpy Saturday tea-time family show and it works best as such. From what I remember hearing, series 7 is split in two and next year has the 50th anniversary specials. Series 8 will be 2014.

Well, that's what I meant, rather. That he'll go in 2013, as part of the 50th celebrations. I didn't know it wasn't going to be a series, though.

That does make sense, mind - S7 is split in two - Amy/Rory episodes up until Christmas, the Christmas Special introduces the new companion, and then the 'second half' of the series with the new companion early in the new year. Specials late in 2013 make sense. Matt's in very high demand, he'll have done four years then, and what better way to celebrate than with a new Doctor?

Yeah this is my problem with the angels. Based on how insanely fast they seem to move when you aren't looking, it doesn't follow that you could actually survive an encounter with one of them.

A bit too soon for me. Just skip him. Anyone before McGann they can recast, although I'd avoid the 5th since we've seen the original actor play him recently.

I don't think you can really capture Eccleston's portrayal of the Ninth Doctor without casting Eccleston himself. I guess I guess wouldn't mind in the end, but I'd rather they just leave the Ninth Doctor than get someone else to play him.

Personally, I feel that if you can't get the original actor then they shouldn't be in it. Using some old footage in a t. baker 5 Doctors way or not having them at all is preferable to recasting.

Using holograms/video screens/Some sort of CGI and old soundbites they should be able to include Hartnell, Troughton and Pertwee even for a small segment. They can always use surviving actors to represent those eras like Ian, Jamie and Jo.

I for one am glad the show is able to retain a cast for more than a season or so-I hate when the cast is constantly changing every season. I actually like the cast changing-to keep it fresh-but it doesn't need to be every season or 2. I'm glad Smith loves the role and isn't itching to leave and mentioning it all the time.

He's still travelling alone. The first half of the series is made up of standalones, with Amy and Rory going home between each episode.

I think they've had a really good run and are leaving at the right time. The show is told through the eyes of the companion so it's good to get a new perspective every so often.

the premise of Cybermen is scary-they take your still living brain and stick it in a robot body-that's truly disturbing. The problem is the Cybermen LOOK silly.
